"Great value hotel"
We stayed at the Troy Hotel. If you`re looking for a cheap but nice hotel in a great location in London, then this is the place for you. Obviously if you want luxury, you won`t be satisfied. However the staff were pleasant, the hotel clean and the room very comfotable. Excellent flatscreen tv with freeview and a good shower en-suite. An excellent bonus was the breakfast, admitedly continental (mainly cereals and breads), but good for the price. And right by Hyde Park, so just a few tube stops from the major stations, theatres and Oxford Street. I would certainly stay here again if I just wanted a base to work form.

Great value for money and very central location - handy for Underground Station - but quiet (thankfully) at night. New furnishings in bedroom and, although I had a single room, didn`t feel cramped and was very comfortable. My only criticisms would be that their was very little choice at breakfast and, being on the fifth floor, the electric shower took a long time to heat up. However, no complaints, really, as was very reasonably priced and I would definitely use again.

Nice clean hotel, very helpful staff. A lovely building tastefully decorated. Good sized rooms with en-suite. Breakfast was plentiful. Convenient location. Will use this hotel again when staying in London.

"good stay but rude receptionist"
I enjoyed my stay and the room was good value for money, but the receptionist was very abrupt in his manor and did not smile, clearly not been on any costumer services courses! The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy and very big. The only other criticism I have is that the cleaners are very noisy in the mornings and know how to wake you up with the banging of the bedroom doors!

"A small, average hotel."
I chose this hotel due to the fact that 90% recommended it, and having seen the pictures on line. However, not all the rooms are like the one`s in the photo`s. Our room was quite standard, with only a shower (very hot) and really worn bedcovers, the room temperature was quite cool. The dining roon is on the small side, with the tables close together, the breakfast was adequate. Would I stay here agian? Probably not!

"very nice hotel in a good location close to park and tube,"
pity we only stayed the one night,we will be happy to stay at the troy when ever we are in london, after a busy day sightseeing and the theatre show ,we could happily stay in our comfy room,but the breakfast was worth getting up for.

Room ok but small. Shower dreadful: tap wouldn`t turn to hot and shower head kept falling on to my head. When I reported it, receptionist argued with me and was not interested. Cups in room cracked and very limited supply of tea, coffee and milk. Breakfast mediocre. Definitely would not use again.

The Troy was easy to find and in a great location for everything we wanted to do in London. Room was very comfortable with large bed (even though was not one of the refurbished rooms). Only downside was that there was no bar/ room service to get a nightcap....

"Brilliant location"
The room was ultra clean and the staff effecient. The maid service was very pleasant. The continental breakfast was adequate, if slightly basic. It was quite noisy in the mornings due to roadworks but we had been warned of this prior to visit. The location was the high point of the hotel, right on Londons sightseeing doorstep and easy to find, close to underground. Would visit The Troy Hotel again and recommend it to friends.

We were on top floor and shower pressure wasn`t brilliant, but nevertheless you could have a shower. Carpet a little marked in places. I am really trying hard to fault what is a really good hotel, very convenient for all parts of London, especially by bus. I would certainly go back.

Very friendly service at reception, clean and comfortable room, my only small niggle would be that the room was a little cold in the evening although we did stay at one of the coldest times of the year. Overall excellent value for money and ideal location.

Good location, close to 2 tube stations and Hyde Park. We rarely used the tube as the weather was so nice. It was nice to explore London on foot. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice. The room was large, although we would have preferred a double bed ratehr than 2 singles pushed together. Also, it was quite uncomfortable. However, good value and great location

"Value for money and better than most"
I`ve stayed in a lot of budget hotels in London and many are little better than flea pits but stil prepared to charge a lot for little. This is a great budget hotel from every perspective; clean, well appointed, everything works as its supposed to and above all, its quiet. Its very easy to get to everything else in London fom the nearby Queensway tube station and there is a public car park 2 minutes walk away.

The Troy Hotel is well situated for the tube,restaurants and Hyde Park. We found the hotel to be clean,tidy and an adequate breakfast was served.We did however find the other guests and pipework a little noisy.I personally found the one pillow provided not very comfortable but apart from that the hotel was very adequate for one night.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Not too prepossessing from the front, but excellent inside. Large, spacious room - even warm in December. Shower that worked and staff that were helpful. I wanted an out of hours breakfast as my plane was leaving early and the staff duly obliged

It was so quiet, I was very surprised at breakfast to see so many other people there. The bed was luxuriously comfortable and the facilities good. Although we were on the fifth floor, the lift was so fast, it was not a problem.

Window rattled all night, Head board on the wall creeked when ever you moved, therefore if I turned over in the night I woke my girlfriend up. Lastly breakfast looked as if it was a last minute idea, they put some tables in chairs in a loby area in the basement. They put a few bowls of cereal out, a jug of milk and a toaster. Help your self. No warm option. I will definately not be staying in this hotel again nor will i be recommending it to my friends in fact I will be mentioning it as one to avoid.

Plenty of hot water in the evening but none in the morning was told it was due to low water pressure,had to wash my hair in the hand basin with cold water. Bed was very hard. Work in progress on hotel opposite and one next door but one.

The breakfast options were extensive and well presented very good. The room was very small and the furnishings smelt strongly of tobacco smoke, especially the curtains, we did mention this to reception and the answer was they cannot stop people smoking in the rooms
