"Very good value for money hotel. Good location & met our needs perfectly."

The Troy hotel was the best value for money hotel in London we have stayed in. We have stayed overnight in London several times to take in a show & found the Troy hotel to be ideally located, just a 5 minute walk from Queensway tube station. The room we had was on the 4th floor. It was small but very clean & we didn`t hear any noise during the night & therefore slept very well. The breakfast(included in the price)was simple but adequate & we would definately stay there again.

"Good location but facilities too small, corridors dirty"

The location near a tube station and restaurants was good but the staff are impersonal. The corridors were dirty and laundry trolleys were left blocking access to the lift. The lift broke down but was repaired within a day. The shower cubicle and toilet were so small, there was nowhere to sit. I would be reluctant to stay there again.

"Troy Hotel - Definitely worth a visit!"

The Troy Hotel was recommended by a friend who goes there regularly, so on a trip to London from Devon, we decided to `try it out`. We were not disappointed. Superb location, close to underground. Reception friendly and helpful, accommodation very comfortable.

"Have stayed here before - disappointed this time partly due to location of room."

We asked for a quiet room and were allocated one on the front. We were kept awake on 3 of the 4 nights by noise from the hotel opposite. The room itself was very cramped - it was nice to get home and be able to swing the cat! The position of the safe in the wardrobe made it really difficult to operate as it was so cromped and very dark. We had problems with the bathroom fitments and with the TV, both of which were reported but neither addressed during our stay. The otel manager was at pains to apologise for both oversights when we checked out. The Troy;s big plus for us is its excellent location, but I would certainly need to know that I had been allocated a quiet room before staying there again.

"A traditional, warm and friendly hotel. "

Apart from the oppressive humidity of an old London hotel without air-con and the inevitable noise of late night revellers and early morning dust carts, this was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Lovely hotel and very comfortable. Only very small disappointment in that there was no fresh coffee for breakfast and the milk for cereal tasted like Longlife milk. This may sound very churlish, but important to some people.

"Nice hotel, shame about breakfast"

The hotel is clean, the staff are helpful and the rooms are in good condition. The breakfast however, was a bit of a `mish-mash`; a plate of cheese, a bowl of cottage cheese, 2 bowles of unpitted olives, cheap tinned fruit, UHT milk (I saw them topping up), not much in the way of cereal, some bread and croissants (not freshly baked), which was not terrible but an odd combination - no ham there to make it really `continental`. The worst thing, no fresh coffee, only hot water with tea bags, chocolate powder and coffee sachets - only one type of each. Not the end of the world but I expected better.

"Poor Service at Reception"

Our room was situated at the front of a noisy St (even though the Hotel card states it`s location is quiet) our window didn`t shut properly and our ceiling light kept flickering so we had to use the lamps. We asked at Reception if we could be moved to another room but the Receptionist told me the hotel was fully booked but they would send someone up to fix the window and light. No one turned up and there was not even an apology, so our 2nd night was pretty much as sleepless as the first!. Would NOT stay there again.

"Lift broke down for the whole weekend. Suffered back pain walking up 5 flights. no help from staff."

requested alternative room further below. But staff didn`t help. Reception staff gave impression that they were just doing a job.

Perfect location for what we wanted to do in London. One of the beds in room 306 is a bit lumpy and should be replaced but this certainly did not spoil our stay. Investing in air conidtioning would be a good idea. Staff helpful and polite.

Arrived during the hot weather ( 1 July) to find we were in the attic area ( 5th floor) which did not have air conditioning so all we had was a fan. Not much sleep was had at all. Have no complaints about the bedroom but the shower was almost useless.

"A pleasent stay at the Troy Hotel."

My wife and i stayed at the Troy Hotel for two nights in June (Mon & Tues). The room was clean and tidy, a good sized bathroom with plenty of hot water. The breakfast room was bright and airy and the continental breakfast was more than adequate to start your day.The hotel is well placed for strolling around Hyde Park on a summers evening and not far from the tube stations to see the sights of London. The staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful. We would gladly stay there again.

"Excellent, well positioned hotel."

Fantastic hotel. In a great location in a side street over the road from Hyde Park. Five minutes from Queensway Tube Station so the rest of London is easily accessible. Great staff that are very pleasant and helpful. Room lovely and very clean. Continental breakfast simple but very nice. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend to others.

"Good value for money"

Great location just off Bayswater Rd. Great for Hyde Park, concerts etc. Clean and well looked after, polite and friendly staff. Breakfast basic but good continental standard with good coffee. Only problem was room was BOILING. I know it was the hottest weekend of the year so far but even with the window open fully and the fan on it was unbearable. I think it was because the room is very small......not sure what they could have done...but that was our only fault with the hotel.

"An Enjoyable Stay"

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel, and again it was enjoyable. For the money the rooms and breakfast are excellent. The room it`s self was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom the same. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is a shame that the other patrons of the hotel couldn`t be the same, the rude people in the room next to ours checked out at 5.30 am and banged the door at least 6 times, just as they had been doing for the most part of the stay. However you can not judge the hotel for it`s patrons. Overall a bargin and a great hotel.

"Highly recommended"

The hotel is well located, being near to a number of tube stations and a wide range of decent restaurants. It is also very clean and well maintained. We had a large room with a massive bed and a good bathroom. The staff were helpful and we will certainly stay here again.

The room was also it not clean far from it the carpet were disgusting ( room 101) they moved to another room (403) which was light as it had front facing window but it was not much cleaner.
