I was just a bit surprised that for a 4* Hotel there were cosmetic problems such as peeling wallpaper, blackened grouting between tiles in the bathroom, bathroom door wouldn`t shut and damaged skirting boards etc. The windows were also ill fitting and it was very noisy from about 5 ish in the morning from rush hour traffic on the Loop.

"Bedroom was like a box and not big enough for two people"

Our room was on the 6th floor, the last floor being only accessible by stairs from the 5th floor. The hot water was full of air locks probably due to the height it had to travel. During the night there was an awful lot of noise which I assumed was night staff accessing storage cupboards. Neither my wife nor I felt refreshed in the morning.

"Very comfortable beds but lots of room for improvement"

I had booked a twin room, it was very small, could just get round the beds. Old style TV, wallpaper peeling off walls and ceiling. Breakfast good. hotel staff very helpful. The room was clean but obviously needs updating, this was throughout the hotel as everything is a bit stained and worn. location good, right next to town centre. Parking very limited. And if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs as you can hear movement in the rooms and corridors around you.h

"Having booked a family room really annoyed they didn`t have one when checking in."

Booked a family room as I was travelling with my 14 and 11 year old sons. The 14 year old had to sleep in a single room on his own as the hotel didn`t have any family rooms even though this was booked months in advance. Really not impressed. Not sure where the problem lay I suspect dur to their reaction that it was with the hotel.

"Not happy at all! "

Printout for double as requested told booking for twin? No doubles available ( stangely enough) offered deluxe executive given shabby room with old box tv, no wet, bar tatty bathroom with mildew, leaking shower boiling hot room with 2 cooler fans plugged in (therefore hotel aware of problem) only one towel cold not get reception or housekeeping had to call room service told no bathrobes. Will place review on trip advisor.

"Overnight stay"

Staff at hotel found to be helpful and friendly especially reception and breakfast staff.Breakfast excellent.Only complaint would be bathroom in room was small.But everything else was fine.

"Excellent staff service. They were polite, friendly and efficient."

Decor is neutral and warming. The open lounge to the right with fireplace is excellent for clients waitng to check in or out. Rooms are well designed with all necessary facilities. Bar staff are friendly with excellent social skills. The restaurant is well designed and decorated and the staff gave me a warm welcome arriving and leaving .I have stayed in top hotels in Japan, Boston and San Fran and this hotel compares equally. Will definately be the only hotel I will stay at in Leeds.

"Excellent location"

Hotel is in the centre of Leeds with every where accesible on foot. The hotel was good. Very friendly staff, nice clean room, and the breakfast was good. Although close to the centre it was nice and quiet at night. only one small critisicm the room was very warm, even without heating on. The hotel had provided a fan and an air cooler for this. On the whole this hotel was good value for money and i would stay there again.

Staff all helpful and for an lder hotel well maintained, only negative point was that the room was very hot , no air circulation.

excellent location with freindly helpful staff, and one of the nicest breakfasts i ever had. We stay in Leeds once a month and have sampled most of the hotels. The Met was a great place to stay and will be our first point of call in future

Breakfast has a wide choice of options all prepared to perfection. Only complaint is the charge for the car park at the hotel

"Problems With Their System Meant I Couldn`t Stay"

When I arrived I was told that due to a technical fault to the system they had overbooked the hotel by 20 persons, myself being one of them, meaning I could not stay. However they had already arranged for me to stay at another hotel down the road from them, offered to call me a taxi and explained it would be no further charge to me. The receptionist was very apologetic and as helpful as possible with giving directions to the other hotel.

"Very comfortable and worth the money "

I booked the Met for my sisters hen night for a party of eight. I was not disapointed and it was just what i waqs looking for. It was very comfortable, in good clean surroundings. The Hotel staff were very professional and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would reccommend anyone to stay here whether business or pleasure.

"Nice Hotel"

The Met was a very nice hotel and very central. Overall we were happy with our stay although there were a few dissapointments. The room was `very` hot and the windows wouldn`t open however there was a large fan in the cupboard which brought welcome relief! Upon arrival there was only a few sheets left on the toilet roll and only a half roll for replacement. At breakfast there was no glasses for juice, plates for toast, bread to toast, cereal bowls or plates for hot breakfast. We had to ask for everything and wait for it all too. We ordered tea and waited an age then was only given a cup of tea not a pot! I thought the breakfast area was badly managed although the breakfast (when we finally had something to eat it off) was very good.

"The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was great."

We found the general ambiance very good and we enjoyed our short stay very much. We would definitely come again. Small concern, we found it hard to understand the receptionist even though we are used to the Yorkshire accent. A little more personal interest and less trotting off the lines might have helped.

"Very Welcoming"

I arrived, and didnt have to wait long at reception, before a very cheery lady booked me in. It seemed like nothing was to much trouble for her. The room was immacualte and everything was spotless. The continental breakfast was very nice and I would definitley book here again!

It was the 3rd time that i`d stayed there and everytime it gets better, excellent attitude by staff. The rooms do not have air-conditioning, but i thought it was a nice thought to leave a good sized fan in every room.......i will definately be staying again!!!!

"Good value "

Stayed in a single room which was very small, however it was well appointed. The view from the window was terrible as it was a room at the rear of the hotel but the breakfast made up for this as it was excellent

"very nice hotel in old building with character in centre of town with modern rooms would stay again"

We booked this hotel for mainly the price that was on offer and were very surprised at how plush it was. Parking was good on site although not many spaces and reasonable at £10 for 24 hours. It is central for town so was great for us and had a good breakfast and friendly staff - all in all a good stay and i would stay again

I found the staff very friendly, the room decor pleasing and although I didn`t have dinner the breakfast I enjoyed. Would definately stay again.
