"Staff very helpful and courteous. Excellent situation, very close to Grafton Street."

We had a very enjoyable stay - the rooms were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were very good. The music was loud at night but we were expecting this and it did not bother us unduly. We would use this hotel again.

"Incredibly noisy, not particularly helpful staff."

Probably the least pleasant hotel experience I`ve ever had. Firstly, and most importantly, the hotel is on a street with EIGHT nightclubs, including one on the ground floor of the actual hotel. In setting up this nightclub, the hotel management has basically decided they don`t care about their guests getting any sleep, but has decided that this is okay as long as they provide ear-plugs (i`m serious, they come with the free soap!). We were put on the top floor furthest from the club, in a twin room despite having booked a double and the noise kept us up for 3 nights in a row- including on a weeknight. The staff were not helpful in minimising the noise issue, providing us with a suitable double room or providing an early breakfast for the many marathon runners there for the Dublin marathon. Do not stay here unless you plan to be out on the town until 5am every night.

"Noise! Noise! Noise!"

This hotel is great if you want to party until 5am! The hotel is well situated to the City Centre but has three noisy nightclubs and two large function rooms, playing loud music into the early hours (a comment made by an unhlepful Receptionist - who refused us a refund on the second morning, who informed us that we should have known about this if booking online!). It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in 20years around the world for customer service with a quasi-Faulty Towers approach to dealing with guests. If you are partying in Dublin until 3-4am, then this hotel is perfect as you will not sleep before 5am. Not recommended.

"rooms with character, and style. Pleasent friendly staff"

Very close to oconnell street only 5 mins walk to get to all of the shops and main attractions. The hotel can be noisy as there is a night club inderneath, however this noise was bearable. We found that for the cost of the room and location this was more than worth putting up with. Also the Krstal night club underneath is great of thats what your interested in. Only bad point that was the tv lost reception and after assking twice no one came to look at it. But they are all very busy at russell court and they did have important functions going on. i guess mytv request was very small in the scheme of things. overall stay though good and would definatley stay at russell court again.

"Beautiful hotel, nice garden bar"

Everything was perfect, booking in took minutes. The room was lovely with high ceilings and room colour. Can be quite noisy at night with the night clubs below the hotel, but they supply ear plugs. Beer garden really nice, and of course perfect for smokers. Breakfast brilliant, room service only 3 euros per room.

"The situation of the hotel was a big plus and the cleanliness was good"

The only issue I had was that we were on the first floor and due to the nightclub we had sleepless nights on the friday & saturday as the music was extremely loud!

Lovely hotel, great staff but very noisey, we were prepered for the loud music from the night club but when we arrived we saw the night club wasn`t on as it was a tue night but was woken about 3 am when the beer barels were delivered which seemed to go on for ages. They do leave ear plugs in the bathroom for you but they dont drowned out the sound of banging steel barels.

"Fantastic Hotel"

Great service, lovely characteristic room. Loved the `Diceys` the garden bar, lively but relaxed and so well thought out. Well placed for the city centre and therefore a little noisy at times but we had a super time and are planning our next trip back to Dublin. Ee will definately be back at the Russell Court Hotel!

"Very noisy"

The hotel is lovely, clean and the staff were more than helpful. I was not aware when I booked it that it also had a nightclub and the noise went on until the very early hours of the morning, The hotel did supply free earplugs but they did not help much and I have a hearing difficulty but still heard the party goers going............... that is my only complaint, the breakfast was substantial and very well cooked, service was very good and the staff more than helpful, if it wasn`t for the noise I would go back again.

"the cottage"

we were upgraded at the last minute to the cottage,, and when we got to the hotel we were taken into what can only be described as the back yard! we were told if we needed to get back into the hotel grounds then we should ring reception, only to find our phone wasnt working. then we sat out in our own smoking garden but when one of our party used the toilet those of us who were sat outside were faced with raw sewage coming up through the drain. we had to use our own phones and write our own drink orders because the staff struggled communicating!

"Good hotel for young couples or groups but not for families as there is a nightclub on the premises."

We enjoyed our 2 day stay and would certainly use the hotel again, it is geared at young people and their were lots of groups staying over the weekend we were there, stag and hen parties etc. This is ok if you are looking for a lively venue as the nightclub is good but open to the early hours on Saturday evenings and closing at 1am on a sunday evening.

early evening onwards we had to identify ourselves to get into the hotel, 2 of our party had to move rooms as the on allocated was far too small, breakfast was not very hot and the noise from the hotel bars was very loud especially when people were leaving at 4am. For young people who want to party into the early hours this is a good choice of hotel, but for the more mature visitor to Dublin we would not rwecomend this hotel?

hotel well located easy walk to grafton street and temple bar. room was tiny and very old fashioned and sloped alarmingly but was clean. hairdryer was a bizarre tube on the bathroom wall which burns your hands without drying your hair. outside space at the back is amazing very modern and lively clubs were excellent. bit more attention needed on rooms but for young travellers a good place to stay. bars are busy and noisy at weekends so not suitable for families or elderly but fine for party goers.

"A very friendly and compact hotel with everything on tap."

One draw back is the size of the overly small lift, in which it is impossible to have two persons plus cases. Another would be the noise from taxis, collecting nightclubers at 4.00 a.m. in the morning. The taxis made more noise than the 200 - 300 people waiting in the street did. Other than this we really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Russel Court in Harcourt Street, Dublin. With such a friendly atmosphere we hardly noticed the rain.

"Over booked and Noisy"

When we arrived we were told they had overbooked and we had to sleep in a cottage for the first night which was not at all suitable and Wednesday night was a nightmare with the noise and amount of youngsters partying till the early hours of the morning on the street and in the hotel, We would not stay there again.

"I should have realised when I saw the packs of ear plugs in the toilet !!!!"

Good location, However the hotel was not suitable for me and my family due to the noise from the late night disco. Young and trendy will love it. For me and my kids it was a sleepless night.

"Very noisy"

Although it stated on the booking that there may be some noise from the pub down stairs there was no mention of the 24hour tram service running outside the hotel, the extreme lack of parking in the immediate area, the window was cracked which helped the noise of people leaving the club downstairs talking and laughing. This sounded as though it was in my room not outside. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone who would actually like to use the hotel for sleep or anyone who drives!

"Excellent location, good fun, fabulous beer garden, be prepared for the party."

A really nice hotel in a very good location, close to centre but not in the middle of it. Breakfast was very good. Staff were extremely helpful. The beer garden was excellent but I think if you did not know this and the night club were on hotel premises then it may be a bit too noisy. Didn`t even need the free earplugs!

"Beware of the noise!!"

Due to single glazed windows out side noise in the early hours of the morning was excessive. This was due to clubbers going home, taxi rank outside hotel & early morning dray man delivery.Ear plugs are essential!!! .Apart from the noise the hotel was very good with an excellent breakfast & good city centre position.

The room was lovely, plenty of room and storage space, unfortunately the bed was rather old and uncomfortable. It was a bit lumpy and sagged in the middle. Parking was also an issue as there was no car park, on street parking was only for 3 hours and expensive. This was not fully explained in the website.

"Ideal location to the centre of Dublin"

This hotel is located close to all amenities of Dublin, particularly the theatre and shopping (St Stephens). I stayed on a Monday night (07/07/08) and there was no noise that other guests have cited, probably because the 2 nightclubs underneath the hotel are only open at weekends. The full Irish breakfast managed to fill me for the day and all the staff in the hotel were very pleasant and friendly. If you do get the Airport link from the Airport to O`Connell Street be prepared for a good 20 minute walk, but as the bus only costs ?6 (?10 return) and a Taxi about ?25 each way, it is probably worth the exercise.
