"Budget hotel in city centre"

My son and I stayed here for two nights in September 2014. It is a budget hotel in a city centre location and should be judged on those grounds. It is an old building with character, which we liked, but could do with a bit of brightening up. Our twin bedded room on the third floor was perfectly comfortable and we had a good view out over O`Connell St below. The breakfast (in cafe next door) was good but could have done with a bit more choice and/or flexibility - and the staff there were definitely more welcoming on the second day than the first. Overall, good value for money.

The worst hotel I have ever been in. room dirty over looking bins in an alley and b eside a generator making constant noise all night with also the noise of seagulls at the bins as well - no tv either room in terrible condition needs complete modernisation smell of cigarettes of the bed -never stay here again even though the location is good its still not worth the hassle

"Excellent location!"

Lynams is right in the centre of Dublin on O`Connell Street, so excellent location. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the full Irish breakfast is tremendously good. Lynams is what it is a budget hotel offering value for money without any frills.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lynams. It was in a good location and easy to find. The room was clean and had a t.v and plenty of tea and coffee etc. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely. I would stay there again as the rates were very reasonable

"One night stay"

Although we only stayed one night it was a lovely clean and comfortable hotel. My friend and I had to fly a night earlier than expected and were very lucky to get a hotel. We were stay another 6 nights in one of Dublins top hotels but we would have been quite happy to have stayed at Lynams. In fact the beds were more comfortable than the hotel e stayed in!!!! Very nice gentleman on reception who was a great help... Well worth a visit.

"Dirty bathroom!"

I chose Lynams because it was handy to downtown Dublin only to discover after I had arrived late and unpacked my things that the bathroom smelled like vomit, and sure enough there was enough to produce the smell on the outside corner of the tub. Needless to say I found this disgusting. It was late at night and I treated my bathroom like a public restroom that night, not a home away from home: no shower, lots of care concerning what I touched... Yetch!

"Fab location! "

Couldn`t ask for a better location. Right bang beside the spire. My friend and I got a fab deal and wouldn`t complain for the price we paid. You only sleep there! It was our second stay and many more will hopefully happen

"Just what we needed"

Great location, helpful welcome desk and discount at the very tasty restaurant next door. Very clean room and en-suite and ideal for the price. Only problem was the thin walls meaning those next door kept us up but apart from that, great little hotel.

"Very convenient accommodation in the heart of Dublin "

A lovely room looking out over O Connell St. Very convenient to O Connell St and a comfortable room. A little noisy at times being in the heart of the CBD but the pros outweigh the cons

"basic rooms, bit pricey for what you get."

We had booked this a month before the stay, we chose this place due to the location but there were cheaper, more luxurious hotels. Basic rooms, comfy beds though. If it was cheaper I would stay again.

"NEVER AGAIN, SHOCKING SERVICE"

I booked this hotel 3 weeks in advance for its central location. I arrived in Dublin for a medical conference, phoned the hotel to check check-in times, only to be told that I was no longer staying at the hotel. I had not been informed of this change of plan. They stated that they had booked me into another hotel as they no longer had any rooms available. This alternative hotel was 8.5 km outside dublin, was less than half the price I had paid and when I arrived looked more like a drugs den than a hotel. Lynam`s were less than apologetic, seemed to think this was acceptable and only after a lot of hasseling agreed to pay for my taxi ride to and from this alternative hotel. Unreliable hotel trying to make a quick buck, completely unacceptable and I would actively discourage anyone booking with them.

"The staff were kind and helpful but I have been bitten badly by fleas."

On the first night I noticed some bites and spent the second night at my Uncles. I had to stay for my third night and had even more bites. I told the cleaner on the first morning and on leaving spoke to the manager. he apologised and said they had had it sorted before. He said they would get you to refunfd all of my money. I am back in England and have had to throw away my coat and boots. About £200 worth. I ahve washed all my clothes but still had fresh bites this am where they must have been in my hair. This has ruined my stay. Room 27 had no phone and I was moved to 32 which had the loud noise of the air conditioner. I asked to move back to 27. I have had to get Piriton from the chemist and cancel a hospital appointment for tomorrow as I cant have any other medicines for the tests I am due. All a mess.

"Excellent position. Friendly and helpful staff and a really nice restaurant. "

Only stayed one night whilst going to a concert at the o2 but was good position for all buses, taxis the tram and a range of shops and restaurants. Own restaurant was good. Rooms a little tired but clean and warm. An excellent value night at £33 for twin room (room only)!

"Enjoyed my stay. Good value for the money"

I thought it was good, the staff were very nice and polite and provided assistance whenever required and information on the area. I`d like to stay again as a good location and value for money. Good restaurant attached to the hotel but a member of my family had some problems in their room which we had not come across before and puzzled us that something like this should show up in the hotel and we were slightly worried. But I think I would stay again.

"Good location and excellent price, rooms and facilities as expected for a 3 star Hotel "

Good location and excellent price, rooms and facilities as expected for a 3 star Hotel but the price @ £58 for a twin room was excellent given that it was All Ireland Final weekend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lynans hotel. The location is perfect, very central. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast each morning. The room was clean. However the window in the room was broken and therefore could not be closed, so it was cold and noisy at night and therefore difficult to sleep. We would definitely go back but would hope to get a room with a window that could be opened and closed.
