the first night I stayed 19/5/08, the room was very nice, comfortable and I enjoyed the stay. The second night I stayed 21/5/08 the room although functional was not as good, a little claustrophobic, dark and a bit dingy and would affect my choice next time

room was comfortable and clean, complimentary drinks had a good selection of herbal teas, normal tea and coffee. The flat screen was a bonus, particularly as it had a DVi input for my lap top to plug in to! breakfast service wasn`t great; I had to ask 4 times for toast. evening meal in the brasserie was fine.

"Hotel didn`t give us the standard of room we had booked and paid for & didn`t offer to move us"

Hotel was clean but we were disappointed with the reception staff`s view that they couldn`t help us because we had paid the agent direct, therefore it wasn`t their problem. The room was extremely hot at night even though the heating was off and the window was open - perhaps we should have foreseen this problem due to the giant fan standing in the corner of the room!!!!

"Clean comfortable and excellent staff"

I really enjoyed my stay in your hotel, from the moment that I arrived, I was very impressed. Upon arrival there were a group booking in ahead of me, although this delayed my check-in by a few minutes, the moment that I got to the desk, the receptionist apologised for the wait, even though there was no need as she was obviously very busy. The room was very clean and welcoming and I was very impressed. Breakfast was very nice and I appreciated the fact that you catered for vegetarians at the hot buffet. The bar food was really lovely, as were the staff.

YOU AS A COMPANY TOOK MY MONEY AND PROMISED THAT YOU WILL MAKE A BOOKING ON MY BEHALF. GUESS WHAT, WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL YOU HAD NOT MADE THE BOOKING AND I HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME CONVIENCING THEM THAT I HAD MADE A BOOKING. A ROOM WAS FOUND FOR ME BUT AFTER MUCH PROBLEMS. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST JUST AS I AM DISGUESTED. WILLIAM QUAYE

"excellent food!"

I greatly enjoyed my stay... food was the best i`ve had when staying overnight in the leeds area - and i stay over once a week. friendly staff too. the only thing more i`d want would be free WiFi to keep up with my work, but i know that you can`t have everything!

"Good friendly Hotel"

Large Hotel with private car park which is well lit, seperate pub, food was excellent, check out was very quick and efficient, Rooms are of a very high standard. Would recommend

"Food at buffet at wedding excellent and really appreciated it."

On comment would be that we could not get the heater in the room to turn down so had window open all night which was rather noisy because of the traffic but it did not spoil our weekend in any way.

"good but some ways in which it could improve"

lovely setting and pleasant helpful staff in reception and at breakfast. Evening meal in Brasserie disappointing. Staff seemed to be inexperienced and although the place was nearly empty it took a long time to get a meal ordered. I had hicken breast and it was so tough that the knife would not cut through it. I think that hotels, particularly those offering conference facilities and with strong university links, need to consider letting people go online atomatically. I could find no info in the booklet re going on line and since I only wanted to check email I didn`t pursue it. The fixed shower is fine for tall people who wash their hair in it. I did not want to wash my hair in the shower but had no alternative since the head cannot be adjusted. No shower cap was provided. It was good, the room and other facilities were of appropriate standard, but the meal was poor value.

Room was clean and comfortable. Only problem encountered at breakfast where not offered toast, no cup and saucer despite asking.

Food suprisingly poor Steak was not good-french fries were cold and black bits-lettuce was brown on the edges-not good Breakfast was a lot better/staff on the ball

"Noisey standard accomodation in need of a style overhaul..."

The standard accomodation is very tired looking and in need of some up-dating. The Mansion House is much better but comes with a supplement. If possible try to get a room in there if you`re going for a weekend. The breakfast is great and the reception staff are helpful. Its quite near the roundabout so the standard accomodation is very noisey but its close to Headingley. Popular with Wedding receptions so be prepared to shout over the cheesey music in the bar!

Should sort parking out and ensure that main parking is reserved for hotel guests - let people playing football om nearby sports fields park in main area. Guests are having to use overspill parking. Room service expensive and steak was tough

"Overall our stay was enjoyable."

Only two things marred our stay, as there was a wedding (Sunday) taking place we couldnt get near the bar for drinks. We were unfortunate enough to be given a room near the delivery doors - so was awakened at 7 am - we did sleep with the window open so this could have been a factor, Didnt have a chance to use the facilities other than dining, but these did look very good.

A little at the pricey end for what you got but the staff were friendly and efficient and the buffet breakfast was superb. The room was a nice size and very clean

Some disapoinment that our room had not been cleaned when we returned for a rest at 3pm in the afternoon having left our room at 9-30am., We had to wait 1/2 hour for this to be done before entering the room

"Poor Service & rooms not ready"

Got to the hotel at 14.00pm to book in and were told rooms not ready. Came back at 15.45pm and rooms still not ready. Rooms finally ready at 18.45pm, nearly 5 hours after arriving. No assistance from the staff and could care less attitudes

"Poor Service and rooms not ready"

On arriving at 14.00pm to check in I was told the rooms were ready. We left to attend a family wedding to be assured the rooms would be ready on out return. When we returned at 15.45pm the rooms were still unavailable. To cut a very long story short they rang us at 18.45pm to advise all 6 rooms were finally ready. Theire delays caused us to be late to the wedding reception and no-one was able to freshen up before attending. The house manager was surly and advised the rooms would be ready when the were ready. Hardly appropriate given the majority had travelled from Leicester, there was a pensioner and a disabled person in the party. Expected a 4 star service from a 4 star hotel but it was little better than a Travel Lodge. The rooms were not very clean and the double bed was clearly a 3/4 bed. Rubbish and would recommend using The Village hotel down the road. Cheaper and by all accounts excellent.

"Comfortable accommodation, good facilities, convenient location and lovely surroundings"

This is the second time I have stayed at Weetwood and I will certainly return when next on business in Leeds. My only criticism was the time I was kept waiting on arrival because the receptionist couldn`t find my reservation and did nothing to make me feel comfortable whilst waiting. Other staff, especially the in dining room were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

"The overall experience was Good+"

On the plus side the staff, food and surroundings were excellent. The double room was rather smaller than I would have expected and was rather difficult to locate from coming out of the lift.. I would stay again and that probably sums up the visit. I would have to single out all the staff who provided a professional and friendly service at all times. Thankyou.

"Don`t go when they have a wedding on!"

Hotel and staff are fine. Unfortunateky it is very popular for weddings and this takes over the hotel. We weren`t advised of alternative eating arangements as restaurant was closed to non wedding residents. They ended up forgetting our order and we ate finally in the reception area after sitting in the middle of wedding guest overspill in the brasserie.

"Disappointing room, bed against wall so access only from one side. Floor dirty in bathroom. "

No tea pot at breakfast only t-bag and flask. Room looked `tired`. I would not stay again.
