good location, reasonable sized room. No milk in room for the coffee and the drinks in the hotel are VERY expensive. Breakfast was very nice - would use the hotel again

"Rooms to hot!!"

Not often you hear this but the room was far too hot - even had to open the windows in the middle of the night. The hotel could save costs by turning the heating down. The money saved could be spent on new shower curtains!

Reasonable at the hotel direct rate but vastly overrated at wrack rate, loo wasn`t clean when we got to the room and the air con was broken and rattled all night, bed was extremely small double and overrall the room was much smaller than expected. Room service took an hour to arrive and had to be chased then order was wrong when it did arrive. TV not properly tuned in and no free chanels other than the five standard ones. Location was excellent tho and staff pleasant.

"Excellent new rooms"

We stayed in the newly refurbsihed rroms which were very tastefully decorated and modern. Room was not massive but perfectly adequate for the price paid. Staff were all helpful and polite. Breakfast was nothing fancy but a solid English breakfast!

"Very central to all sites ie Buckingham Palace, Hyde park ,Covent Gardens and main shopping area`s"

Hotel very clean ,Porter and staff at reception very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was the only down fall. We stayed 3 nights and each morning we had to return the teas. it was freeing cold. And when you are away there is nothing like a hot cup of tea for breakfast. Would stay again room only no breakfast.

"Excellent breakfast "

We stayed on the first floor room 108. Small but clean room. Only one bathrobe which was a shame. Little details just be checked before room is let. Also the noise from outside kept us both awake, traffic and people talking well into the small hours and again very early on with lorries passing by.. Shame as it was a very nice hotel, just wouldnt want to sleep on the road side again.

"Wonderful Location shame about the service"

Great location, taxis always outside, easy to walk to Regents Street and Hyde Park. The AC is useless and the staff are just as bad. Please do not try and cheat at breakfast if you have booked continental and try and sneak a full English as you will get caught and get told off in a very unfriendly manner. Service very poor at breakfast, always running out of food and the waiters were not very helpful or attentive. Housekeeping is poor as they don`t replenish your milk and forget how many people are in the room so they don`t leave you with enough towles or toilet roll. First class concierge and very helpful, fanatastic Lebanese restaurant just across the road in Shepherds Market .Make sure you draw the curtains as when the lights are on the office workers can see straight in as there were not nets ! Supposedly 4* but looking tired and the corridors to the rooms were smelly and too warm!

"very modern and comfortable rooms"

a nice hotel, decor and comfort were 1st class, great variation and quality of breakfast, good value for money. reception staff were very friendly, polite and courteous, however the concierge were miserable and rude, expecting tips when they couldn`t even raise a welcoming smile!

"Nice but not amazing..."

The hotel was a nice place but not amazing - we were a little disappointed consd#idering we were paying to stay in Mayfair. The decor needs updating and was quite tired. We were upgraded to a suite however it was next to a `plant room` so we had the vibrations of the machinery 24/7. The hotel was clean and the staff were really polite. Plus the breakfasts were great! Easy access to town (only 5mins to Oxford St) and really close to Victoria Station.

"Great location. Relaxed atmosphere. Good breakfast service good. "

Enjoyed location and reklaxed atmosphere. Room (221) next to very noisey air conditining system outside. Also noisey internal heating system with no facility to turn off. Had to buy ear plugs in the end. Very limited TV channels. For the money I would shop around rather than go back.

"Smart hotel in excellent location"

Clean modern room with all the up to date facilities only spoilt by noisy air extraction system at the rear of the hotel. A room on the front may be a better bet.

"Pleasant overnight stay"

My daughter and I stayed at The Washington Mayfair for one night. I arrived before 1230 pm but my room was available to me. I had booked for a twin room, but had to ask for the beds to be remade as two separate ones. Beds were very comfortable and nice bathroom. Full English breakfast was ok apart from the scrambled eggs being rather grey and salty and the coffee too strong. Could have done with more attentive restaurant staff. Would stay there again as location is good.

"I would recomend this hotel - our stay there was excellent"

We stayed over the weekend and the service was excellent, the food was of a high standard and the rooms were as described and very clean wanting for nothing. We asked for a smoking room and got one, which made our stay more comfortable- thanks again we would certainly stay here on our next visit.

"Excellent Hotel, Great location and facilities. Staff very courteous and helpful."

We would recommend the Washington to all friends and family and will certainly stay there again. There was only one small problem, we stayed in room 128 the room was excellent but on the Friday night we could not sleep because of the noise from outside the window. Our room, 128 overlooked a service road and the noise of bottles being put in skips and porters moving rubbish around lasted from 1am to 7am! Apparently this is from an adjacent hotel the Chesterfield and is out of the hands of the Washington management. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Very nice hotel in a nice area - was a bit disappointed with both the size of the room and the air conditioning. The AC unit was noisy all the time (even when turned off) so much so that it was intrusive while watching the TV and trying to sleep

"mostly excellent stay but one problem when we checked out."

The hotel was generally excellen and was even upgraded to a kingsize bedroom which was excellent. However ther was an unauthorises amount of £100 charged to our creditcard which was quite a worry for a couple of days. However when we contacted the hotel it was reimbursed to our credit card.

Great room. We were upgraded to a luxury twin room which had little extras included. The decor and artwork were beautiful. I was a little disappointed with the air conditioning because the room was either too hot without it and too cold with it. The breakfast staff were a little slow in clearing the tables. We sat and ate a full breakfast and there were still tables that needed clearing after we had finished. We also had to wait for a table for the two of us. Apart from that, the staff were very polite and helpful. I have stayed here three times now and have always had a comfortable stay. On previous occasions I would rate the hotel very good.

Excellently situated for Green Park, Hyde Park, Mayfair shops and the tube station. Close to Shepherds market area with some lovely restaurants and bistros. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and if we had not have had the deal with Hotel direct would have cost us £19 each for a full English. But that can be expected in an area like Mayfair. If you don`t want to pay through the nose for valeting service, then take a travel iron with you. Staff were friendly and polite. Air con in all rooms (which was necessary as the hotel was warm) I wouldn`t hesitate to stay there again.
