"Great location"

The room was small and we had to ask for complementary coffee/tea making facilities. But the breakfast was superb and the location meant everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance which was great.

"Comfortable room, excellent position, Palm Court ambience excellent"

We enjoyed a very pleasant time here. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. However the promised coffee/tea making facilities were not delivered to our room until a second request was made many hours later ! The final bill was also wrong but in fairness it was corrected very quickly by the front desk. Overall a good hotel that we will use again.

"Pretty average london hotel"

Not what we expected from a 5 star hotel = room cold and pretty basic. No tea/coffee making facilities had to call room service to ask for this. Breakfast - staff unfriendly had to wait for a table to be made up even though there were several laid for two. Cooked breakfast cold and not good quality. Pastries stale and waiter asked if we wanted toast and then never gave us any. No top-ups of coffee offered.. Only saving grace was the muesli. Thank goodness! Reception staff friendly and competent. Would not stay there again if given an option of hotels nearby. Do not believe this can be a five star!

"Not sure why this is rated as a 5-star hotel, in need of re-furbishment."

Pounding bass from a disco in the hotel made sleep impossible till midnight. Staff were sympathetic but unable to do anything.

"Great location"

Great hotel and staff however we had no hot water at the bath and no cold water in the shower! The problem was dealt with but no sincere apology was offered leaving us feeling a bit let down

"Best stay in London ever."

The best weekend we have ever had in a London hotel, it was my wife`s `special` birthday and every one at the hotel made us feel like we were millionaires from the moment we walk through the doors to the last moment we departed. A HUGE thank you to all the personnel working there.

"Thank You The xxxxx xxxxx, Piccadilly."

It was my wife`s 60th birthday. The hotel gave us a complementary bottle of champagne and up graded us at no extra charge. Thank you to The xxxxx xxxxx,Piccadilly for helping make a wonderfully time for us.

"Very comfortable refinery in great location"

Living opposite the Queen feels special, Royalist or not. The xxxxx xxxxx for my fiancée and I, balanced perfectly the colourful city of contrast that is London. A short bustle of a walk opens up the shopping and nightlife of The West End, Soho, Leicester Square, and China Town. We did it all aged 50 on heels (well one of us did, not saying which) and walked back in the early hours feeling perfectly safe. After a late breakfast, fresh air and peace was found just across the road in Green xxxxx and St James xxxxx, lovely. We found the hotel itself very we`ll run and quite relaxed almost casual in atmosphere, which suited us. Should you not have an invitation from Liz across the way then the Hotel does offer a fabulous and indulgent afternoon tea with champers and special none fattening low calorie cream cakes. Served in Art Decor splendour with resident harpist, it is so quintessentially English. So naughty so nice.

"Tired rooms."

Of course, great location, but beyond the public rooms which are quite pleasant, the corridors look frumpy and our room was very tired. Mis matched (some cheap looking) furniture. Bathroom loked as though it had been tiled by an amateur. No thermodstat control on the bath/shower taps so with extremely hot water, was unsafe. I did mention these points to the hotel.

"Friendly but dated"

Friendly staff but a very traditional hotel with dated decor, rooms and corridors, breakfast excellent but little natural light in breakfast restaurant, it felt like evening.

We were impressed with front of house and the attitude of the staff, but we were disappointed with the room inasmuch that there were no tea or coffee making facilities rather that we were encouraged to order from room service (at a cost). The bathroom was tatty and the shower hose leaked spraying water where it shouldn`t. We had booked a triple room and when we arrived the third bed was not in the room. When it arrived it was a `Put-you-up` type hardly suitable for an adult. The King size bed on the other hand was incredibly comfortable. I would stay here again but I suspect that the rooms we were allocated were not the best in the hotel.

excellent breakfast. all staff very friendly. The 5th floor and our room smelled of smoke even though we were told it was non-smoking. The bath would benefit from a fixed shower head rather than just a hook for the lovely victorian style shower head which meant the water sprayed outwards - gave us a laugh after a few drinks though. Opted just to have a bath after that

A little disapointed on the size of the room. An old hotel that requires a make over. Hotel staff welcoming and helpful.

"A pleasant stay overall"

This hotel is very conveniently placed opposite Green xxxxx. Our room, not one of the refurbished ones, was a decent size, warm and with a superking bed. The view from our window was someone else`s room across some air-conditioning units, but we didn`t expect much as we`d got a deal from Hotel Direct which included breakfast. We liked - the bed the cleanliness of the room the magnifying mirror in the bathroom the friendliness and good service at reception, the restaurant and door staff we weren`t so keen on - no water except from the minibar - how much does a bottle of water cost for goodness sake? no tea and coffee making facilities in the room the hot breakfast buffet, leathery bacon, tasteless mushrooms and no choice of egg
