"Great Hotel, Great Location"
Excellent Hotel. Our room on the seventh floor had recently been refurbished as I believe most rooms have. For a Standard room it was very large & excellent bathroom including a heated mirror. Breakfast was excellent with large choice & omelettes cooked fresh to order. Ignore any comments about poor breakfast as unfounded.

we had a fire alarm at 9.45 this morning during our breakfast, we were all told to go to the Cumberland Hotel , two streets away, we were advised to sit in the bar there, twenty minutes later we investigated the situation, everyone had gone, we were not told so went back to the xxxxx, we were very disappointed with this

Excellently positioned hotel for Hyde Park and xxxxx xxxxx tube stations ( and when its raining, that`s handy!! ). The rooms are spacious, although the view from our window was facing an flat roof , from where I could see the rain pooling (!) and an air duct thing... It was NOT a pleasant view, but that didn`t matter because we were out `doing the town` for most of the time! Breakfast time was a little bit tedious as you had to queue for a table.... but Hey! So what?? 15 mins wait, but then, a buffet of food items for every palette. I ate plenty !! :-) All-in-all, a fine hotel, warm, comfy and pleasant.... A little pricey, even with a Hidden Gem deal.

Work was been carried out on our floor , noise woke us each morning before 8.30 - would have been nice to have been advised beforehand ..apart from that hotel was v satisfactory and is in a great location .

just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel. It was excellent; our room was very clean & well equipped. Had breakfast as part of the deal which was very good buffet style with much choice. The hotel is also in a great location just off Oxford street so great for shopping. Will return to this hotel.

Unclean bed linen (hairs and stains of some kind, lets not even guess what they where) unclean bed linen in all 4 rooms we tried, painted open windows, undercooked chicken, overcooked pork, fish in the ceaser salad, 2 hours to find a room that was habitable 4 rooms visited, not a good experience thats for sure. Try as I may the only really good thing about our experience was the location, the car park next door and the breakfast even though inconsistent with the eggs, one day 2 eggs the next 1, order frosties two days in a row get special K two days in a row, now Im no fool and I ticked the box for frosties both times, its not hard to follow a list like that is it, and it was all getting cold by the time it reached the 5th floor, where it went from the kitchen to the 5th I have no idea. SHAME !

Our second stay at this fab hotel but unfortunately let down by a couple of things. 25 minutes to retrieve our suitcase from the Luggage Room, finally a very kind Electrician from the hotel came to our rescue. Get to breakfast early as it is very busy and you have to queue to get into the dining room. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes after being shown to our table for someone to ask us if we`d like tea or coffee. Eventually we approached a member of staff and politely asked for some coffee, to our dismay we weren`t offered any sort apology even though we had clearly been overlooked.

The newly refurbished rooms are well planned and use the space optimally.The room was sunny, has a view over Oxford street and was quiet. Coffee facilities in the room above average and restore the tired traveller speedily. Highly recommend.

"Great Location at a reasonable price"
This hotel was reasonably well set up to handle a lot of people only saying one or two nights. Staff friendly and helpful. Our refurbished room was really lovely and the lobby decor was lovely.

"The Weekend was too much for this hotel"
45 minute queue for breakfast and then only half the food was available. This hotel has about 820 rooms but when full cannot cope. Very disappointed with what should have been a lovely treat.

But Both room keys failed to operate after breakfast and after going to reception, replacement keys failed.we only got back into the room by the kind assistance of the room maid. Also there was a queue for breakfast, we had to ask 3 times to get any coffee and the hot buffet was dried up and luke warm. Definitely not 4 star breakfast# Warwick Robinson

"Wonderful hotel, helpful staff"
Whilst the hotel looks dated from the outside, don`t let first impressions fool you, inside its beautiful. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The receptionist placed us in one of the refurbished rooms which was beautifully decorated. The monsoon shower was awesome and every drawer, hinge & cupboard that could be closed (including the toilet seats!) were `soft shutting` so there were no bangs at all. Admittedly our room was inwards looking but we didn`t `t come to a London hotel for the room view! The location is very convenient, only a short walk from xxxxx xxxxx tube station & therefore easily accessible to all parts of London. Breakfast was busy but well managed with fresh food constantly being topped up. My only gripe (if there is one) is that the waiting staff appeared slightly over-zealous in clearing our plates away. Please wait for me to finish next time! We will definitely come back here again, thank you

We arrived and the staff at reception were lovely. Unfortunately the room they gave me had a flooded floor and urine still on the loo! I went down the guest relations and they changed this immediately by putting me in s superior room. Unfortunate incident but happy with the solution.
