A lovely hotel, clean with friendly staff. We thought we would treat ourselves to breakfast, thinking it might be special at £30 a head, just average and the service was awful, asked for toast and it never came to us or the two tables around us. Took 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee which was weak and not worth the wait and no top ups in sight! This experience will probably stop us from visiting again

"Happily Surprised"
Just stayed 21 November.After booking looked at other review site and was slightly apprehensive,so expected the worst (at the price we paid). I can only say it`s nice to be wrong - faultless place and service. Slightly south of where we normally stay but v good location.Book it.

We really enjoyed our stay - the room was very pleasant and comfortable and had plenty of amenities. The hotel is very central and yet quiet, and staff are very friendly (with one notable exception). We felt very much looked after and will certainly stay there again.

The hotel is very impressive. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and are well appointed. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was a very civilised affair with vegetarian sausages and soya milk readily helpful!

"Be careful which room you book"
We had 5 exhaust fans for the air conditioning on the roof within a foot of our window. I asked reception if they would be running as the room was hot and I would need to sleep with the window open. Their attitude was "no one else hears the noise or complains so get over it". Well you guessed, I have been listening to the buzzing all night. Hotel in a great location but room was nasty and staff on front desk not helpful.

"Well positioned 5* hotel -Superb"
This hotel is exceptional from location to room facilities and customer experience. Close to theatre land, river Thames, and all major attractions you can`t choose a better place to stay On your visit to London! Breakfast is outstanding, and staff always willing to go that extra mile. While we stayed the head if concierge was a winner of London concierge of the year, which gives you the idea that they are good at what they do.

Excellent hotel. Upgraded on arrival with complimentary drinks included. Breakfast superb, room service fantastic. Bar, restaurant and outside terrace are all places to try and will not be disappointed. Will stay again.

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, great staff, small rooms despite upgrade, very expensive bar. No bath in our room, only a shower which, considering it`s five star status, was grubby and needed some attention to the grouting. Not all our lights worked but neither of these things ruined our stay. At a travel lodge it would be almost expected but I only mention them because it`s a 5* establishment and I feel it falls short of that. Would stay again at a discounted rate but wouldn`t pay full price.

Only the one night but will stay here many more in future, great arrival reception drinks, welcoming smile and truly helpful and courteous staff. This guest attention flowed through the hotel, from the reception to housekeeping to the bar and restaurant. We couldn`t believe how chilled out the 1212 restaurant and it`s staff were, never mind the background music.... All an experience to savour and do again!
