A converted 16th Century Coaching Inn, the 4 star Plume of Feathers draws upon its heritage to create quintessentially countryside décor throughout its 8 rooms. Hotel and location:
Located in the quaint village of Mitchell, in between Newquay and Truro, The Plume of Feathers is perfectly situated for easy driving access to central Cornwall. The surfing town of Newquay (including Newquay Airport) with its aquarium and zoo is a short 17 minute drive away, whilst those guests wishing to partake in a spot of shopping may wish to visit Truro with its many independent shops and markets which is a 15 minute drive away. A bit further afield, guests will find the shipping port of Falmouth with its many beaches and rich maritime history a 37 minute drive away. Within similar distance, the Eden Project with its biomes full of varied and exotic plant life can be reached in around 40 minutes. For a picturesque Cornish fishing town, Padstow can be accessed in 30 minutes by car from the Plume of Feathers as can the many fantastic beaches and coves nearby.
Getting there:
BY CAR: From the M5, head southwest, and exit onto the A30 toward Bodmin. After 79.7 miles, take the exit toward Newquay. Continue straight, and The Plume of Feathers will be on the left.
BY Public Transport: From Newquay Train Station, exit and cross the road then turn right. Continue to the bus stop outside the Great Western Hotel. Catch the 88/88A/88B bus towards Truro. Depart the bus at Mitchell Pillars Close and turn right. After 160 meters, The Plume of Feathers will be on the left.
