"Highly recommended"

Perfect location, beautiful hotel and lovely rooms. Second visit and won`t be the last. Dined in the restaurant and the food, although a little pricey, was excellent. Will be recommending this to friends and family visiting Edinburgh.

"Best hotel experience I`ve had! "

Lovely, just lovely. I`ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in my life and this has by far been the best experience! The room was luxurious, the bed was AMAZING, fitness centre was fantastic, the food was great and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Really went above and beyond, I requested some packets of the shortbread included with the coffee tray in the room and I received fresh, home baked ones with fresh milk. Outstanding. If I had my way, I would never leave.

Good standard of accommodation. Helpful staff. Good location. At times service slow.

"Nice but disappointed."

Just back from our stay in the MacDonald Holyrood (room 404). Room was very nice apart from the hatch to air con unit was hanging down. Our main reason for disappointment was there was no hot water in the morning. We were finally advised that we would need to go to the spa to get a shower. Not what I would expect but I don`t think that is the norm.

Staff were very helpful car parking was excellent but a wee bit high priced at £20 per nightDinner was excellent and pool facilties were also very good. We had a lovely stay and will return in future also have no reservations about recommending to friends.

"excellent standard of accommodation and good value for money"

close to dynamic earth and the scottish pariliament and 5 min walk to the Royal mile. quiet in the evening away from the noise and bustle of the clubs, pubs and bars. few restaraunts and a supermarket . Lovely comfortable rooms. Tv perfectly acceptable as personally didnt go to edinburgh to watch tv. Friendly and professional staff, Would definately return and recommend.

didnt like the fact that while i was out for a short time , the tv had been put on for me and the curtains closed and the water moved from the table to by my bedside table. dont think any one should come into the room untill you check out. hotel was lovely and so were the staff enjoyed my stay
