"cold tea and breakfast !!!"

we were served cold tea at breakfast, the waitress said she had picked an used pot up.When we went up ton the buffet breakfast the scrambled eggs were stone cold and the rest of the food was luke warm, considering we were early for breakfast ( 7am) this was not the standard we expected.The room was ok but being close to the lift we found it quite noisey.

"Mixed up our reservation - service not the best we`ve ever had."

Nice hotel - service mediocre on arrival and at breakfast. - on arrival told that they had us booked in for the following night had to wait in the lobby for a while whilst they `sorted` this - then told either a double room or only twin room available smoking room. Double room not a reasonable option for us, checked out the smoking room but was really smelly - eventually given a twin room, not sure why it wasn`t offered initially but was a nice room. Service at breakfast was confusing - our drinks were cleared when we went to the buffet and had to be re-ordered - the waiter tried to take my plate away when I was still eating - bizarre. Four star hotel - but not four star service.

"Failed to Impress!"

Average Hotel,certainly not a gem,hidden or not!.On the plus side rooms were clean and the Buffet breakfast extensive..

Excellent reception and getting into room. Room was great quality and on the 11th floor with a fantastic view of London - the eye and the post office tower. Food was a good quality but the breakfast in the room was not hot enough - maybe because I was on the 11th floor! Only small issue was on checkout when there was only 1 receptionist and no-one came out to deal with me although there was a queue forming. Apart from that I would recommend a stay here.

"LUXURY HOTEL AT FANTASTIC PRICE."

The hotel was beautiful, in a very central position only 2 minutes from underground. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was superb, i think they remenbered everything to include all tastes.

"Very Central for shopping, and not far from Tube Station Marble Arch."

We arrived and were upgraded, it was an excellent hotel, rooms were spacious, staff very friendly and helpful, though there was a slight problem with our Voucher on arrival, think we got more than we should have done, as they said we were upgraded, and had to pay for Breakfast, but sorted ! They advertise that your car costs £25.00 per day to Park ! Wrong ! Informed them of there error ! Its £36.00 per day and you get 20% Discount as you are staying at Hotel above Car Park, Car Park very convenient ! And alot less than some ! Definitely stay there again as Breakies on a Sat till 11.00 and on sunday till 12.00 ! And its very good, but must have it included in Cost is £18.95 if you dont !

"Not bad"

Not a bad Hotel, but something is missing it`s looking a tad tired and needs some TLC. our room was not ready on arrival (2pm) (we arrived at 4pm., but they did upgrade us to business room, which was small and cramped but clean. Prices in the hotel are high (two ham sandwiches are over £19. but well placed for seeing the shows and sights.

Very good location, tube stations close so easy to get to shops and sights. Room had nice decor, comfortable beds and there was plently of room. Only fault was dirty grout around shower. Lifts were fast. Staff were all frienhdly and very helpful. Wou7ld stay there again and recommend

"Service in restaurant/ food/room were all good. HOWEVER!! see review"

The checkin was appalling - it took nearly 15 mins and then an 8 minute wait for the lift to take me to the 8th floor. On checkout again this took 15 mins and 3 staff were on reception but all had queries on bills to deal with. - this needs much closer monitoring extremly poor!!

"very poor, not a hidden gem, more like a dated overpriced travel inn"

this was not worthy of the 170£ a night that i paid. the service was well below par. the room was awful and dated. the TV is positioned in such a was that you couldn`t actually watch it in the bed. I would not advise to stay here for the price

"Lovely Hotel, Shame About the Breakfast!"

Full english breakfast was (allegedly!) included in my room rate. Not having time to have a sit down breakfast in the restaurant, I opted to have a continental breakfast in my room, that I could easily consume as I was getting ready. I fully expected to pay a tray charge for this service. HOWEVER, I was told that I`d have to pay the FULL price, AGAIN. So, didn`t have any breakfast in the end and this has soured my view of the hotel.

"Fantastic service!!"

On entering the hotel, the staff could not have been more helpful..Upgraded with no extra charge to a fantastic room....The room was spacious with everything you could wish for..The bar staff especially Ibrahim???...something like that...was great, again nothing was too much trouble.. Cant wait to return!! Thank you so much for a great bank holiday weekend!!

We booked two non smoking rooms and were booked into smoking rooms after a half hour delay at the registration desk. We were upgraded to two business class rooms which were much nicer but still pretty average. The cleaning in the smoking rooms was very poor. Breakfast was excellent, although even here there was a queue for tables at 8.45 am.

"Great staff, great room, great service, very comfortable"

Recevied a free upgrade on arrival to a junior suite which was very unexpected but very enjoyable. We found the staff to be very attentive and professional while the quality of the food (breakfast was included in the price) was very good. We will definatley consider using Hotel Direct in the future. Well done and thank you.

"Okay, but you can do better"

Room wasn`t ready even though we checked in at 5:00pm. Broken kettle. Room was fine but very small and a bit tired. At breakfast we had eaten our cereal and went to get a cooked breakfast, when we came back to our table it had been cleared and given to someone else (saw this happen to another couple as well).

This Hotel was fantastic. My friend and I wanted a nice relaxing w/end away with a Hotel that was central and this did not disappoint. Very well located with good facilities, amazing breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely weekend - thanks!

We booked this as a late break, The room was small with tired decor. The kettle was balanced on a tiny shelf and the lead only just fitted into the socket, the hair drier did not work and the main light in the bedroom did not work.

"Good value for money when booked at discounted price as a secret hotel"

Room size good for London but a bit tired. Hairdryer in the bathroom is the old wall mounted `hosepipe` type; fine for drying hair but not for styling - take your travel hair dryer if you need to style your hair. Ligting in room is really bad - no central room light, only wall mounted and table lamps.Service is average. Breakfast is exceptiional for choice but quality is variable; I love my cooked breakfasts but didn`t go for the bacon, sausage and black pudding as they were not v. good quality. But as I said, buffet has a vast array of choice so I still really enjoyed my breakfast - went for scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

booked this hotel through the hidden gems offer, good location just off oxford street , good clean room a little on the small side but it was`nt a concern as we were only there one night .The buffet Breakfast was included in the package and was an absolute corker of a breakfast , the choice was fantastic.
