"A good standard of hotel. Hidden extra charges for use of leisure club for paying guests was disapp."
"Far too busy"
This was a very average Holiday Inn, but the biggest problem was with how busy they were. The fact that our trip coincided with half-term didn`t help, but the poor staff were barely able to keep up, particularly at breakfast time where queues were unacceptable and breakfast far from a relaxing experience.
"too long a wait for a table to be available at breakfast."
Stayed with our 2 little boys. About 10 mins walk from Kings Cross, which is ok once or twice, but a chore again and again. Taxi cost 5 quid. Staff polite but not particularly friendly. Breakfast manager rather abrupt in his manner. Signs in lift suggesting we have breakfast at less busy times so we thought we`d use the pool first. However, discovered there was extra charge of £10 for the 4 of us which we hadn`t been told when we checked in. This had to be paid each time you used the pool. There were also restrictions on the times we could use the pool meaning we weren`t welcome at breakfast nor in the pool... At half term, with our family! We did use it once and kids enjoyed it. Usual variety of food for breakfast which was nice enough. Rooms functional. Best asset was the 2 friendly chaps running the bar.
Convenient to kings cross and comfortable
Room n service very good only one thing key for room not activated for room on first Day. Breakfast good nice bacon
"Very clean room and hotel overall"
we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again, the room was very clean (not like the travel lodge we stayed at last year!) and we enjoyed the use of the pool, steam room etc. at a reasonable extra cost. disappointed that you still charge for wifi tho...that`s a bit tight! ....the only bad point was that we had paid for the breakfast but when we came down at 8AM we were met with a huge queue so we decided not to bother and went out to eat so that was a waste of money, on the second day we went at 6.50AM and enjoyed a very good breakfast. Staff were polite and friendly, hotel was very good overall.
"Friendly staff but dated hotel"
"Overall very good value for money by London standards and our 2nd stay"
Our 2 nd stay here. Just the 1 night last time but 3 this time. Comfortable family room. I had paid for the Full English Breakfast . Worth it and good to fill up before s full day sight seeing. Not especially impressed with restaurant in the evening though staff all friendly . Hotel staff all pleasant. . Apart from food downside was paying for use if pool but at least there is 1 , and broadband wifi .
"Excellent family friendly hotel with very helpful staff "
We stayed here as a family of 4 and found the hotel to be just perfect for our 2 night stay. Staff were second to none, breakfasts were delicious, if not the best in any hotel we`ve stayed including the more expensive. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Kings Cross is approx 15 mins walk even with a 5 year old and easy to find. We would definitely stay here again. The 2nd bed is a fold out settee but a perfect novelty and comfy for children. A great base for your stay in London.
