The Old Ship Hotel is Brighton`s oldest and most historic hotel dating back to 1559. The hotel is superbly located along the seafront making it an ideal base from which to explore the town centre. You will find the exclusive boutiques in the lanes area within easy walking distance, along with many restaurants, bars and clubs which are literally on the doorstep. The hotel has a fantastic bar and restaurant which overlooks the promenade and the famous pier is a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. Although the hotel does not have onsite leisure facilities there are many in a short distance with daily membership, which the hotel can arrange. More Info

The hotels Al Fresco restaurant and bar offers a wide range of food from light snacks to a full al a carte menu. You may sit over looking the promenade watching Brighton by night.

Getting there:BY RAIL:  Main station is Brighton. Head to the seafront from station, when facing the sea turn left and the hotel in 1 block away.  

BY ROAD: (From the M25) exit at Jct 7 onto the M23 South. Continue on the M23 onto the A23.  Follow signs to Brighton and on reaching the town, follow signs for the sea front.  After the Royal Pavilion (on your right), turn right at the seafront roundabout onto Kings Road (A259).  You?ll find the hotel 600 yards on the right.

BY ROAD: (From the South West/Exeter).  Follow the A30 to Honiton and join the A35 passing Dochester turning onto the A31. Take the A31 onto the M27 continuing onto the A27 to Brighton.  Follow signs for the sea front turning right after the Royal Pavilion (on your right) onto Kings Road (A259).  You`ll find the hotel 600 yards on the right.

"Great hotel with lovely sea views"
Great hotel, very conveniently located. Very close to many local amenities. The staff we`re very helpful. Some of the hotel could do with a makeover, i.e. plaster falling from walls. Overall, the room was very comfortable and good night sleep. We would recommend family &friends to choose this hotel.

"Noise and heat"
Hi we had a nice stay at the Old ship in Brighton apart from two things. Firstly the noise from the street during the night due to revellers on their way home and secondly the heat in the room made sleep fitful. The trouble was you couldn`t open the window due to the noise! Overall the stay was good and it is a beautiful hotel.

The room was good, but the bathroom was freezing with mold on the window and blind and after having a bath I could not get the plug out because it had no chain. (Sorry to the house keeper...)
