On entering the room the temperature was unbearable, there was no air conditioning and the windows could not be opened to any sufficient degree to allow fresh air.(probably due to Health and Safety requirements}. An appeal to a member of staff produced a mobile air mover, very welcome but still inadequate in the circumstances. The rest of the services provided by the hotel were satisfacory, the staff mostly cheerful and helpful.

The curtains were trailing on the floor, were old, and only held with a few hooks. Some of the wallpaper was torn. The breakfast was excellent.

I did find it extremely hot all the time as the central heating was on and there was no access avaialbel to trun it down. This then resulted in us having to have the window open all the time in order to cool the room down a bit.

Rooms were small and overcrowded - lack of space in the dining room which was down below the level of reception so rather claustraphobic especially when full of people as the tables were very close together.The receptionist had given my room key to a gentleman who gave my room number at the desk instead of his own in and I was instructed to wait at reception whilst they sorted i. I found this to be very alarming particularly as my handbag and computer etc were in the room and that the man had already gone up to my room, and had the key!!! Fortunately, on opening the door he realised he was in the wrong room, but had he not have been an honest person, could have helped himself to my belongings - so I was very upset by this situation.

All in need of refurbishment whereas we had understood refurbishment had taken place. Staff were helpful in sorting out your error. Breakfast was fine - we paid an extra £4 each to upgrade to full English.

The rooms were clean and had everything you needed.There were 12 of us staying in 6 twin rooms, just one room was very small but the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, but you do have to pay for a cooked breakfast. One of our party was taken ill and they aloud her to stay in the room till 12.30, which we appreciated.

Signs for facilities in the hotel were poorly sign posted, so we missed out on the sports bar, which we discovered the following morning when we went down for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One nights stay was enough for this hotel and we wouldn`t return to it.
