"Overall basic but pleasant stay"

Most of my stay was pleasant, staff were helpful and friendly, ample free breakfast or for an extra 4 pounds a full English breakfast.My last night was disrupted by a leak in the bathroom ceiling. I called reception who sent someone immediately and I was given a new room. No assistance offered in moving bags to new room, no compensation offered for inconvenience. Overall relatively pleasant stay.

The room was very small and in need of redecoration. The bathroom door and the bath needs replacing. Little attention was paid to replacing tea, sugar and milk which had to be chased up. The dining room for breakfast was fine and the service was good as the hotel was busy. The bar area was a bit basic but the service was effiecient and the prices reasonable. Given the area not a bad place to stay at as it is convenient for good transport connections.

"Nice on the outside......."

We only wanted the hotel to sleep in and breakfast the next morning. It did not meet much expectations. The room was extremely small which is not a massive issue, but the matress that we had to sleep on was the worst I`ve ever lied down on. Did not make for a good night sleep. They then charged me an extra £4 per breakfast if we wanted a full English. Which was a bit disappointing. The service and staff were excellent - just the furniture and food was disappointing.

"Norfolk Towers: Good, older, reasonable hotel"

I forgot to note to the front desk that the TV was not working. It didn`t matter to us, but future guests may want to use it. I`ll use Norfolk Towers on future trips to London. Thanks very much.

OK, so given the fact that rooms are pretty small. The hotel should keep in mind that although their guest spend most of their day outside of the hotel room, when they come back, they want to.rest in comfort. Hence, comfortable mattress should be provided and nice firm soft pillows. That should.be standardfor all hotel rooms. Reason why I.mentioned this was because that was the type of mattress and pillow I had. Although my nights were kind of uncomfortable I didn`t want to distrub the staff regarding this matter and because I was already too tired. Other than that my stay was OK and the ppl there were nice to me.

+ Friendly helpful staff, room met our basic needs and was comfortable, good food. - We had to close the curtains the minute we got into the room - no net curtains, overlooked by building with a lot of windows.

"Not worth the money"

I appreciate that hotels in the capital are expensive but at nearly £100 for a nights stay with just a continental breakfast it is over priced. the room was basic, the furniture old and worn and the carpet had holes in it,we had an old TV with no remote control and just 5 channel`s! (remember this is 2011) On the plus side, the room and bathroom were immaculately clean and the staff superb, the manager comped the additional cost of our English breakfast when we complained the next morning.

"Possibly the best value budget hotel in London"

I have looked long and hard for a decent, clean, central hotel in London under £100 - and now I`ve found one! Rooms and reception were spotlessly clean and the continental breakfast was good value. For another £4 you can even upgrade to the `full English`. Don`t expect any frills, but if a clean, sensibly priced hotel 2 mins from Paddington is your thing, this is the hotel for you!

"Compromise"

A necessary choice for early departure from Paddington. Staff helpful and courteous, but `twin` room cramped, overheated, and shower temperature not variable. Room very noisy at night from heavy traffic.Lift out of order - a great disadvantage for me with heavy case.Breakfast reasonable.Can`t help remarking that for an extra £20 on my return overnight break, I enjoyed efficiency, cleanliness, latest entertainment facilities and free internet use, free gym/spa, and fantastic breakfast - at the Mint.

"Good hotel - very convenient location with good facilities. No problems encountered."

This hotel was very convenient for Paddington and in a nice area. Apart from the usual London noises the area was very quiet and there was no problem with sleeping. The hotel itself is an old building but the facilities were good. Everywhere was clean, the rooms were serviced every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast in a nice dining room. Overall I would recommend this hotel - we used it for a family break and due to its position was excellent for accessing the underground and therefore the rest of London.

"Pleasantly surprised!"

After booking this hotel, and then reading comments (wrong way round to do it I know!) we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! On arrival the reception staff were more than helpful, as were their replacements when we came back in the evening. Before heading out we asked for extra pillows and said we would collect them when we returned. We quite expected for them not to be there but they were! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of it, again with polite and happy staff. Only downside was that the rooms were very hot! but it was 30 deg outside! Being able to leave luggage until rooms are ready or when you leave is good too. We will definately stay here again!!!

"Pleasently Surprised"

Having read some of the reviews about the Norfolk Towers, we were not quite sure what to expect, well from check in to check out we could not fault anything even the Continental Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had for choice in a 3 star London hotel, all the staff we met were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them, looking forward to our next trip to the Capital and the Norfolk Towers. Just one small comment, the duvets in the summer need to be a lighter wieght!

"close to everything but very basic"

we were close to the centre but the hotel and rooms were very basic. the first night are heating was broken we asked for more blankets and were told we would have to wait until the morning, as there was no laundery staff. the next day we complained and are heating was fixed.
