Although the hotel is a beautiful old building , the housekeeping is disappointing. The bathroom had spills that wernt cleaned up, brown smears on the walls. The carpet looked unhoovered. The curtains were hanging off the tracks.The Windows need a good clean.The powder room toilets were a disgrace, toilet cubicles covered in vomit . Have to say the reception and bar staff were bright, helpful and friendly.I do think the hotel is good value for money, but obviously the housekeeping team need to work harder .

"Excellent!"

Only stayed the one night but will definitely return. Our room was warm, comfortable and clean, maybe the decor is a little dated but it all adds to the charm! The staff are very polite and the evening entertainment was really good. Cant wait until we return..

"room terrible "

Room had frosted glass window that couldn`t be opened which made the room very stuffy and dark , there was no towels provided ,the bed was terrible ,ancient mattress well past its best

We had a room with a small window with not outward looking view, i would probably only book this hotel again as a last resort

"No sleep"

The hotel its self looked nice very grand downstairs however the bedroom was another thing.,carpets were gruby,shower was dirty,the mattress was so uncomfortable springs were sticking out,food was really nice but won`t be going back

Booked late for a short stay, hotel was warm, clean and friendly. Fantastic value for money

"A bit tired"

Stayed for 1 night in Superior double (two singles pushed together with gap inbetween) costing £59. If we were staying any longer probably would have complained about this, the hole in the bedsheet and no teabags in room. But although frayed round the edges the place was clean and the bar and public areas had a relaxed,comfortable atmosphere. For less than £30 each we felt it was good value and we would definitely stay again, ringing beforehand to avoid aforementioned niggles.
