"Great Location!"
The Z Hotel City on Fleet Street is in a great location. 15 minutes walk to Trafalgar Sq, Covent Garden, Leicester Square and about the same to Westminster. A good variety of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel is modern and clean with a lovely atmosphere. Staff are really nice and friendly. Rooms are tiny with just a glass partition separates the bathroom from the rest of the room - but you get used to that. If you get back to the hotel late and fancy a drink there`s a little bar area at the back and the reception staff will serve you drinks. They offer a free wine tasting and cheese event every evening which we didn`t get to, but the variety of wine looked good. The Zest Cafe does breakfast and they also do lunch and dinner. Don`t pre-order breakfast at reception because you don`t save any money and you are restricted to a particular part of the menu which was a bit strange. Honestly, this hotel was excellent and I would definitely recommend it.

"Compact clean and friendly"
Clean contemporary compact rooms. Tea, coffee, drinking chocolate were very welcome after the sight seeing comfortable beds and big TV with access to films etc. In room shower and WC again compact but good. Close to Chancery Lane and temple underground stations. Walking distance to Tower of London we would use z hotels again.

"Great staff who were very helpful and friendly, very clean and fresh rooms."
Great staff who were very helpful and friendly, very clean and fresh rooms. Double room very good but space and privacy in the family was a real issue. I would not book the family room again, far too small.

"Family room like a box"
The family room we booked wasn`t cheap and was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We really struggled to move with 3 adults in there and it was impossible to get ready. Was rather disappointing as booked for a friends special birthday

"Clean and comfortable and very convenient location. "
I stayed on the recommendation of my sister-in-law, and as I needed a place to sleep after attending a formal dinner at Greenwich with boat transfer there and back from Temple Pier, Z Hotel City could not have been more convenient, being just a few minutes walk from Temple Pier and Temple Underground Station. I had a compact room with no windows but this didn`t matter as I was only there to sleep, it was clean and comfortable and it did have the benefit of being quiet. Unfortunately time did not permit me to take advantage of the complimentary cheese and wine in the evening - next time! I booked through Hotel Direct and a couple of days before my stay I received an arrival assurance email with directions for getting there by Tube, by Train, and by Car; I would suggest it should include arriving by bus, particularly as there are bus stops nearby, with one right outside the front door from which I was able to catch the No 11 bus to Victoria in the morning. I`ll be back.

"Poor! Shocking solution to the problem given by management!!"
On the morning of our departure from this hotel we woke to find there was NO WATER! We were unable to shower, wash ourselves, brush our teeth, even use the TOILET!!! When I contacted reception, I was told by a female member of staff (who told me she was the manager, at the time) the we could take a taxi to the "sister hotel" to use their facilities! At no time did she offer any assistance with a taxi, which I thought should be the duty of the hotel. I was travelling with my sister and my 86 year old mother on a birthday treat for "mum" and had a train to catch later that morning therefore a trip across London was not feasible!! Sadly the whole trip was ruined as we had to travel home to the North of England feeling dirty, unwashed and extremely uncomfortable!! Will definitely NOT be recommending this hotel.
