"Spoiled by poor maintenance and noise"

The Harcourt is potentially a lovely hotel badly let down by poor maintenance and noise. Our room had several defects - an extremely slow draining wash basin, a chair with a broken back and the noisiest bed I`ve ever slept in due to the headboard not being secured. The noise levels were pretty bad too - the hotel does warn you about this but we figured that a Tuesday night would be fairly quiet. We were wrong! There were people outside partying in the street outside into the early morning and our friend who had a single room on the floor above us told us that he was kept awake by youngsters in and out of each others` bedrooms until well after 5 am and then the trams started! We loved Dublin but won`t be returning to the Harcourt.

"The staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive. The room was comfortable and clean."

A very pleasant hotel with helpful and responsive staff. It is near St Stephen`s Green and all the attractions are within walking distance. Harcourt Street is extremely noisy (there are a number of clubs nearby) and the hotel would benefit from decent double glazing.

"hardcourt hotel"

Just had the best weekend in Dublin -girls outting- hotel great for location, basic accomodation which was perfectly good, staff really helpful and friendly as was everyone we met. Club and bar made for a good night but don`t complain about the noise your staying in a hotel with a nightclub what do you expect! Will come back again.

"Three Nights Fri, Sat & Sun"

no sleep until after 3am due to the disco. Two fire alarms as guests tried smoking in a non smoking building 7am on Sat morning and 11pm on Tuesday evening. Some of the staff were good but 2 receptionists were awful. I wouldn`t stay here again. Lots of Hen/Stag nights

"A great place in the heart of Dublin"

This was my second stay at the Harcourt Hotel, and it was just as enjoyable as the first one five years ago. The hotel is conveniently located to St. Stephen`s Green, Trinity College, Grafton St., and Temple Bar, and is on the Tram line for those who need to access other parts of the city. We also ate at the attached restaurant (Little Caesar`s, an Italian restaurant), which was very tasty and reasonably priced. The hotel sits on a street of large brick rowhouses and occupies four or five of them. It`s a lovely setting. A walled city park (Iveagh Park) sits behind the hotel and is worth a visit.

"Much too noisy area - until 6.00am sunday morning - no sleep saturday night!!"

Nice Hotel. Basic but clean. Probably due for some refurb / redecorating. Fantastic friendly staff - nothing too much trouble. Would stay again but possibly not at weekend - far too noisy (must be getting old!!). Good food!

"Very loud music late into the early hours so forget about a good nights sleep."

Clean, good facilities, friendly and helpful staff and close proximity to the shops and restaurants. But the economic climate seems to have steered the hotel towards the night-club scene which meant having loud music into the small hours followed by drunk and loud hotel guests staggering to their rooms. My room was at the rear of the building and overlooking the bar and beer garden area. I cant say if the hotel rooms facing the front suffered from the noise polution. I am no spoilsport and enjoy music and a drink but i paid for three nights sleep and really only got one. I will never stay here again.

"Noisy"

Location was good, though no sleep had due to excessive noise from nightclub revellers and outside. No adequate soundproofing from the windows. On arrival, the Receptionist was rather loud.

"Gaelic football was more important than other guests!"

The hotel was purely focused on the Gaelic football and DJ`s/very loud music under both rooms until 3 am and then rowdiness of the fans encouraged by the hotel until 6 am followed by a fight in the corridor outside our bedrooms and obscene language was a disgrace. If that is the guests they are looking for they should make it clear on the website. This ruined our holiday.

"Basic but "CLEAN" with a good hot shower!"

Booked in for a one night stay as my son & I were at the Bruce Springsteen concert (which was awesome) anyhow, we got this hotel cheap in comparison to all the other hotels that ridiculously shot their prices up, as usual! The hotel was clean with a good hot shower, the only problem would be the night club downstairs but we were that tired from the concert, we would have slept through anything! For the price of this hotel, you just can`t complain!!!!!!

We were at Harcourt for a night in March. Very pleasant staff and room was very comfortable. We would stay there again. Short walk to the city centre and the hotel gave us helpful maps and directions.

"Club & Street Party until 3.30am"

We would never have stayed in your hotel if we had known that Tuesday evening was a club night and that there was to be blaring music and 100 people in the street spilling out from the club shouting and laughing until 3.30 am in the morning. Myself and 2 others in our group slept from 3.30 am until 6.30am. Hardly a good nights sleep. Never again.

"Staff and breakfasts excellent, and room price good value, but noise seems to be inevitable!!"

We enjoyed our stay at the Harcourt mainly because it is very convenient, good value and a lovely old building. The staff were all very friendly, especially the lady at the front desk, who was very accommodating when we asked for a room change due to the noise from the outside beer garden, which went on until 2:30 am. The offerings at breakfast were all tasty and plentiful. We were very grateful for their effort in returning clothing we had carelessly left behind.

"Good Location but noisy"

We were disturbed by the noise of people leaving the Hotel`s Night Club in the early hours and even more so by the sound of the LUAS directly outside our window. Room large and comfortable but problems with housekeeping as they left us with no towels and it took 3 phone calls for them to arrive.

Stayed for a friday/saturday night visit. First night was in a shoddy room on the ground floor- impossible to sleep due to noise outside- moved to a nicer room on 4th floor for next night - had to go for a walk at 2.30am as noise from club was so intense. Spoiled a stay in Dublin.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel was clean and a fantastic location. The night club meant there was lots of noise from the street from people using the night club and the taxis outside although this for us was not a problem and I would definitely choose to stay there again.
