"Very good breakfasts!"

Front rooms can be noisy. Rear rooms are quieter.

Excellent location. Breakfast provision was good. However, the interior of the hotel is in urgent need of re-decoration!! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was good and reception staff were very helpfull and polite. The standard of the rooms and cleanliness left alot to be desired e.g. a pair of leggings still in the trouser press, a face scribbled on the side of a wardrobe. rooms not hoovered properly. Blinds not working so unable to block out light.

Excellent breakfast. Rooms a little tired but clean and presentable but Hotel in an ideal location for 2 minute walk into City centre. Excellent staff.

"Three sisters pub"

The Techno music blasting out until the early hours, took the shine off this hotel for me. And it was a Thursday night, anyone doing business the next day would be unwise to stay here.

If you`re looking for frills and luxury, wrong place. If you`re looking for a very well located base with a lively atmosphere and at a reasonable rate then its an excellent choice. Rooms etc reflect 3 star grading but comfortable enough. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Good breakfasts. Handy for Grassmarket and Royal Mile.

"Not for everyone - excellent for us"

Very good for socialising, excellent bar. little noise from bar at night, didn`t bother us but not the place if you wanted a quiet weekend. overall excellent service and great for weekend away!

"Good location"

Good location for all the city centre attractions, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room and breakfast was nice. The noise from the Cowgate and surrounding clubs was quite annoying at night, would inticipate it being worse at the weekend. No parking or not even a loading area caused inconvience. Overall though an affordable and decent place to stay.

"Very Helpful Staff"

The Hotel is in a great location in the centre of Edinburgh . When we booked we realised that there wasa pub by the hotel so expected some noise. However there is also a nightclub on the other side and our first night was too noisy to sleep . Staff at the hotel were brilliant and changed and upgraded our room and the remaining three nights were great. Also organised a very early breakfast for us as we had early flights to catch on our departure. I would stay there again, but not being a party animal I would ask for rooms on the top floor or avoid weekends or more busy times of the year. We had a lovely stay in Edinburgh!

"Wonderful!"

My daughter and I had a brilliant stay at the Tailors Hall Edinburgh. We could not fault the location of the hotel and the room was ideal. The staff were all so helpful. Next time we are in Edinburgh we will look forward to staying there again. We have suggested the hotel to lots of our friends. I`m not sure if you could help me? The hotel sold Three Sisters T shirts. The Three Sisters is the pub a joining the hotel. They were out of stock when we were there, is there any way you could give me there Email address to try and order T shirts for my 3 daughters? I know its a bit much to ask. If you can help I would appreciate it.

"Good for a short stay"

We stayed at Tailors Hall for three days in the week, the room was clean and the breakfasts were fantastic. The walls are quite thin and you can hear alot of what goes on around the hotel, although as it wasn`t the weekend this was not a problem. From the room we were stayng in we had no noise from the pub below.# All in all a good stay, the only negative point i would make is that the bed wasn`t very comfortable - very lumpy/springy!

Our room was pretty grotty. Some of the tiles on the bathroom floor were broken, with sharp edges protruding -- which was very dangerous. The noise at night from the courtyard was really dreadful and went on until the small hours of the morning. This made it impossible for us to sleep. I was amazed the your hotel has been given a 3 star rating. It didn`t seem to merit any stars at all. Your staff, however, were helpful and pleasant. It`s a pity that they can`t work in a nicer hotel.

The staff are extremely friendly and considerate, on the surface appears comfortable, the bed very was uncomfortable, would not recommend if you need a good night sleep for a event. The main emphasis of this hotel is the pub. No food service after 9pm.

"one of the best"

i have stayed in many hotels in various cities but this has to be the best, the room was large and clean the staf were friendly and informativeand the food was second to none. the 3 sisters pub next door was also excellent and it is nicely situated for the city centre..will defo be back again soon .

"lively place with good location"

If you`re in edinburgh to party then this is a great place to stay. situated above the 3 sisters pub it is a great starting base. There is noise but if you`re out until the early hours as I was then its not really a problem. the pub itself is also pretty lively so you could spend the whole evening there and only have a few feet to crawl back... So if you`re planning on early nights this may not be the place for you but if you`re out for a good time i would recommend this hotel. Its also within walking distance of a lot of the main attractions in the city. I highly rated this place!

"one of the worst hotels I have stayed in"

dirty, dreary room, no curtains just thin blinds. Air conditioning unit directly below window which only turned off for about an hour during the night. Very smelly room. Breakfast already cooked and sitting in hot plates. Bars very dirty and rowdy. I certainly won`t be recommending this hotel to anyone

"More for younger market looking to combine evening entertainment with taking in sights."

Clean and friendly although area (Cowgate)a little intimidating although probably safe if dowdy. Standard double room clean and everything provided as promised, bed a wee bit low and soft for our comfort as active over sixties.

"This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in."

The bathroom hadnt been cleaned and was disgusting. Window wouldnt shut. Cream in the tea and coffe facilities was 8 weeks out of date. No tea bags. We had to fall over 3 linnen trolleys to get out of the lift and in a very small space this was out of order. Drink had been spilt on bedside cabinet and not cleaned up. Staff eating an indian take away in reception so I couldnt talk to them. Breakfast was suposed to be served at 7.30 am and @ 7.55 we had to leave for a business meeting we had had no breakfast or tea or coffee as it was not ready. The cooler the juice was served on at breakfast was in a disgusting state and I will be reporting this to environmental health. Duty Manager carried on a personal telephone call in front of mr for 10 minutes knowing I was waiting to talk to her.

"Stag do`s and Hen nights"

Hotel is in a perfect location for seeing the city and great for the night life. There were however several football/rugby teams, stag/hen do`s at the hotel the weekend we went which made sleeping a tad troublesome. Still a great hotel and great city!!

hotel was nice, friendly staff. Room was cleaned every day and complimentary biscuits, tea, coffee and water available. Very close to edinburgh castle, princes street (ace for shopping) and a short drive to the zoo. Near the trainstation if you are coming by that. All in all i had a pleasent stay. One thing that let the holtel down was the fact that it didnt have a car park. This meant that we had to park about 10 mins walk in a multi storey that cost 7.80 a day.

Hotel was ideally situated for us as we were having a birthday night out and its situated on grassmarket. Rooms were clean and reception staff very friendly, lots to choose from for breakfast but cooked breakfast was cold, also the whole time we were there there was no heating on at all and rooms were very cold, but overall I would recommend this hotel for groups wanting a good night out

"Comfortable and extremely good value. We intend to return."

Accommodation was clean and of a good standard. Although we were directly above the pub, we did not find the noise to be excessive or disturbing. Reception personnel were friendly and helpful. Altogether, the Tailors Hall impressed us and we intend to return at the earliest opportunity. We have already recommended it to friends and family.

"Good for party people!"

Hotel clean and service good. Breakfast buffet style of average quality. Good base for people looking to have a few nights out in Edinburgh, however not really for families due to large bar and nightclub next to the hotel, quite noisy, good fun if you like that sort of thing, nightmare if you do not!! Would recommend but with caution make sure you know what to expect!
