"A comfortable stay in a reasonably priced London hotel"
"Object to extra charge for swimming pool. Allocated room, and single Malt on bar menu out of stock. "
Had to complain immediately about the `Triple` room (614) -just about`Double` size with a `camp bed` squeezed in.To be fair Pablo and Joel were quickly on the job to solve the problem, -reallocated room 340 which had disabled facilities but was at least larger.i.e. problem partially solved which we accepted ,as the time was now approaching 4 pm !! Fortunately the out of stock Malt was quickly replaced by another acceptable malt by the bar manager. ( so good I had another couple !) Thanks. We`ll be looking for less snags next time.
"Executive room (235) is very small. "
All other aspects of the hotel were good.
The hotel is first rate, clean and tidy. The staff are very pleasant, and the rate is good value for money.
"Hotel Room (No 157) was too small"
The Kensington Close Hotel is well placed for the Royal Albert Hall and we have stayed there before and found it to be an excellent hotel: the staff are courteous and always willing to help. This year, however, we found the room we were assigned to be equivalent to a single room converted into a double. One side of the bed was close to the wall, there was no room to put a suitcase, there was barely enough width between the bottom of the bed and the wall, it was cold even though we turned the air conditioning up. The wardrobe was too narrow to properly hang clothes and the bath handle was rusty. We have stayed in better rooms at the Premier Inn and even Travel Lodge which cost less for a nights stay.
"First room allocated was dirty and certainly wasn`t what I expected as a superior room"
The first room (117)we we allocated was small. It had hairs all over the bathroom floor, grout on tiles were in need of repair, there had clearly been a flood at some point as the door in bathroom was swollen and didn`t close at all, also found a couple of hairs on bedside unit. Tried to call reception but tried three times and no answer after several attempts had to go down to reception. Unfortunately the man behind the desk had only started 3 days previously and didn`t have a great understanding of English and had to keep coming and asking me questions and then disappearing so it took about 20 minutes to have the problem resolved. We were offered another room(316) what a difference - bigger, nicer room, bathroom had clearly just been renovated - very nice, modern and clean. Our stay was fine after that.
"Lovely hotel but pokey rooms"
Hotel and staff where wonderful however when we got to our room we where disappointed in the size as it was very pokey and we could barely walk around the bed in room 404. Having spent so much money for a trip away for my boyfriend we where hoping to have a relaxing time together but at times felt on top of one another due to such small proximities of "living" space, therefore spent minimal time relaxing.
"Excellent in every way"
A good hotel but I found that there was a slight language barrier and this complicated matters somewhat. On arrival, I was given a room that was obviously for a disabled person, although spacious, I would have had to sit on a chair to shower. Then I returned to reception in order to change rooms and was given room 171, which turned out to be slightly bigger than a phone box. I returned to reception once again and was allotted room 170. Sadly, it was the same size as the previous room and having been unable to explain to the receptionist that I had paid for an Executive double, in order to have more space, I gave up trying to explain because she did not seem to understand what I was trying to say. The next morning however, I was given room 807, which was a much bigger room thankfully. Now I am left wondering if I was overcharged for my first nights` accommodation. Apart from the language barrier, the staff are very helpful and polite and will attend to your every request.
