"Very welcoming friendly staff"
This Hotel has some very wonderful young staff who are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is good and it has got a lot of potential. Our room was quite basic but we booked a deal. It was big enough and has a good sized bathroom with an excellent shower. It was quite clean and fairly well decorated. The bed was really comfortable. The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area and is a ten minute walk into the centre Areas that could be better are food. The hotel hosts the park resturant that caters for a small number of people on 5 nights with a tasting menu. It supposed fine dining but we were quite disappointed as for £65 per person the portions were extremely small. The main course of guinea foul was about as big as one finger of KitKat .. The hotel was quite cold, there is a nice lounge but it was freezing and the dining room has a lot of extra electric heaters in it but was still quite cold. The breakfast that the hotel dis an excellent breakfast

"LOVELY, WELCOMING TOWNHOUSE"
The room was snug, clean and beautiful- as was the whole establishment. TV in room as well a bottle of water and plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Gorgeous bath in our room. The breakfast was plentiful- cereals, fruity, juices and a choice of cooked breakfast. The staff are polite and cheerful and welcoming. The townhouse is 10-15 mins walk away from many local attractions. If I return to York, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely resting place when we done exploring the wonderful city of York.

"Beautiful house in an ideal setting"
Beautiful hotel on a quiet street a short walk from the city centre. We chose it because it looked unique, not Ike a characterless chain and also because it had parking ( which was very reasonably priced as well). We were not disappointed. Set on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but only a short walk from the Minster. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Receptionist on check in was extremely pleasant and offered various suggestions for things to do. Night staff and at breakfast also very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious and beautifully furnished. There is a bar and a lovely lounge too. We paid for breakfast which was great with plenty of choice. In all, we were very happy to have chosen Marmedukes Townhouse and would recommend highly

"Excellent service"
The reception was warm and the hotel was within walking distance of the city centre. There was a comfortable lounge and bar. The room provided was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Only small drawback for us "older folk" was that there was no slip mat or grab handle in the shower which otherwise was good and had plenty of hot water. All in all, good value for money.
Beautiful house in an ideal ...
