Located in the historic section of Ponta Delgada on the island of Sao Miguel the Vila Nova Hotel is in a great position to explore local attractions. Within a few minutes` walk guests can explore the Fort de São Brás which was constructed in the 16th century overlooking the harbour, and was built to protect against pirates who frequented this region of the Atlantic. Also within a 5 minute walk is the Church of São Sebastião which dates back to the earliest settlers on the islands. With a variety of bars, restaurants and shops within a 20 minute walk of the Vila Nova Hotel, guests will have plenty to see and do during their stay.
Getting there:
BY TAXI: From the airport. The hotel is a short 10 minute ride from the Airport, the cost is approximately 10 Euros depending on the amount of luggage.
BY CAR: From the airport head southwest following signs for Ponta Delgada, after 1km take the slight right onto the EN1-1A signposted for Ponta Delgada. Take the next right on to the EN1-1A, after 1.6km there will be a roundabout, take the second exit onto R. de Lisboa towards Ponta Delgada and follow for 700m. Turn right onto R. João Fransisco Cabral and the hotel will be ahead after 100m on the left hand side.
