All of the individually styled rooms at the 4* Burn How Garden Hotel are situated within the gardens lovingly tendered by the hotels owners and winners of Windermere in Bloom. Many rooms have balcony or patio and all have an allocated parking space. In-room amenities include television, free Wi-Fi, tea & coffee making facilities and ensuite bathrooms with hairdryer. A generous breakfast is served every morning which includes a cold buffet as well as a freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choices. The hotel offers guests tea and cake every afternoon when they return from a days sightseeing and the bar, which also overlooks the gardens is fully licensed for an early evening drink or to relax after an evening out. Although there is no restaurant the hotel owners will be happy to make recommendations in Bowness which is just a short stroll away.

The 4* Burn How Garden Hotel is just 4 minutes walk from Bowness Pier for cruises across Lake Windermere as well as walks to take in the breath-taking scenery. The village of Bowness on Windermere is a 5-minute walk, where there are plenty of small restaurants, cafes and shops. Also within walking distance is The World of Beatrix Potter which is less than 10 minutes away. The popular towns of Ambleside and Kendal are both less than 10 miles away and easily reached by car. Visitors on cycling holidays will also find this a good location with both gentle and challenging routes along the lakeside to choose from. Bikes can be securely stored overnight during guests stays.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: Windemere Station is approximately 1.8 miles from the hotel, a 6 minute taxi ride.
BY CAR: Heading south om M6, take the M65 exit at junction 29 for Burnley/Blackburn and at the roundabout take the 4th exit onto M6 slip road to M55/Lancaster/B`pool and after 0.4 miles merge onto M6. After 38 miles at junction 36 exit towards A590. Keep left at the fork and merge onto A590. After 3 miles continue onto A591 and follow this route to the next 5.2 miles. At Plumgarths Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Crook Rd/B5284 and continue for a further 6.3 miles. Turn left onto A5074 and almost immediately turn right onto Longtail Hill/B5285 and after a further 0.3 miles turn right onto A592. Continue for 0.5 miles and turn right onto Back Belsfield Rd and then make a slight right for the hotel.
