All of the 27 rooms at this delightful 4* AA-Rated Guest House are decorated and furnished in a style that compliments the hotel`s original Victorian features. By contrast the ensuite bathrooms are modern in design and include complimentary toiletries. The hotel`s rooms have a contemporary design, including one with with garden view and Alpine Chalet theme. Free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel`s public areas. PLEASE NOTE:This property was previously categorised as a 4* hotel by the AA grading system. In 2024 in was re-categorised as a 4* Guesthouse, for which star-ratings do not apply. Although some rooms rates are described as Double/Twin this hotel only has double bedded rooms.

Hotel and location:

Hotel Clementine is located in a peaceful location within walking distance of York City Centre. This former Victorian residence offers a combination of the properties original grandeur with the addition of modern amenities. Guests wishing to explore the many historic buildings in the City will find this an excellent base. York Minster the city`s vast Gothic cathedral is just 12 minutes walk from the hotel and the ancient streets of The Shambles are just 16 minutes away. The National Railway Museum is also located in York and is less than 20 minutes walk from the hotel. York Race Course is only a 20 minute drive. Guests wishing to travel further afield can enjoy a day walking on the Yorkshire Moors and Dales which are less than 40 minutes drive from the City.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From York Railway Station turn left, then right and then a slight left again towards Bootham Terrace. Use the pedestrian overpass to cross the river and turn left and then right onto Bootham Terrace. After 0.1 miles turn left onto Bootham/A19. The next right will be St Peter`s Grove and the hotel will be on your left.
BY CAR: From the A1 Junction 44 use the left hand lanes to merge onto A64 towards York. Continue on A64 for 1 mile and then take A1237 for St Peter`s Grove on York for approximately 16 miles and merge onto A64. After about 8 miles take the A1237 exit towards York(North)/Harrogate/A59/Thirsk/A19/Leeds. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A1237. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A1237. Take the 1st exit at the next roundabout, almost immediately there will be another roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Shipton Road/A19 and continue to follow this road for the next 2 miles. Turn left onto St Peter`s Grove and the hotel will be on your left.
