Room and hotel facilities:

All of the 12 rooms at the Fat Badger are decorated & furnished in a traditional style with plenty of modern amenities. In room facilities include; flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryers. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. Full English Breakfast is served every day in the hotel`s restaurant which has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes and dinner is served Monday- Saturday from 5pm-9pm. Lunch and dinner are also available in the hotel`s bar.

Hotel and location:

The 4* Fat Badger (formerly Lamb & Lion Inn)is an 18th Century English Inn combining traditional decor with modern amenities and fine dining. Situated in a small street just inside the ancient city walls the hotel is a great place from which to explore historic York. All around the city are original gatehouses and stretches of the city walls. Just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel will bring you to York Minster, one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. The National Railway Museum is also in York and is just a 15 minute walk away. There are also plenty of small shops and cafes in the medieval cobbled streets to visit whilst touring the city, including The Shambles which still has many Elizabethan buildings.

Getting there:

At Junction 44 of the A1 exit onto the A64 towards York. After 10 miles take the exit towards York (West) A1036. Take a slight left towards Tadcaster Road Dringhouses/A1036. After 0.1 miles turn left to stay on Tadcaster Road. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit and continue to follow Tadcaster Road/A1036. After 1.8 miles turn left onto Queen Street/A1036 and then take a slight left onto Station Avenue/A1036. Make a left turn onto St Leonards Place/A1036 and then turn right onto High Petergate. You will see the hotel on your left.
BY TRAIN: From York Railway station exit onto Station Road/A1036. Follow this road for approximately 0.4 miles and then turn left onto St Leonards Place. Turn right onto High Petergate and the hotel will be on your left.

Car Parking:

No onsite parking. The hotel recommend Marygate Car Park which is about 10 minutes walk and costs £9.50 for the duration of stay. Collect a ticket when parking and payment is made directly with the hotel on departure. There is a layby outside the hotel for dropping off and picking up luggage.
