All of the 49 rooms at the George Hotel are individually designed in an elegant style. The 4* George Hotel is a 500-year-old coaching inn in the centre of the historic town of Colchester, just 5 minutes walk from the town`s railway station. As Britain`s oldest recorded town and Roman city there are many sites of archaeological interest to visit including Colchester Castle, just 2 minutes from the hotel.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From Colchester Town Railway Station exit west on Britannia Way and at the main road take a right turn onto Botolph`s Street. Continue on for 0.1 mils and take a left turn onto Short Wyre Street and then right onto Long Wyre Street. This street turns slightly to the left and becomes St Nicholas Street. Follow this street until you come to a left turn onto High Street and the hotel will be on your right.
BY CAR: From the M11, exit at Junction 8 to take the A120 exit to Colchester/B.Stortford/Stansted Airport. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Thremhall Avenue/A120. After 0.4 miles at Priory Wood Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A120 slip road to Colchester. Continue on the A120 for approximately 20 miles. At Marks Tey Interchange/A120. Use the left-hand lane to merge onto A12 via the slip road to Colchester/Harwich. After approximately 3 miles take the exit towards Colchester/A133, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A133. After 1.2 miles there is another roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Westway/A134. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Balkerne Hill/A134. Almost immediately there will be another roundabout, take the 1st exit for Southway/A134. Take the left hand turn onto Headgate, then continue onto Head Street and then turn right onto High Street and the hotel will be on your left.
