Room and hotel facilities:

During their stay guests at the 4* Grand Hotel have use of the hotel`s leisure facilities which include two swimming pools, outdoor, open during the summer months, and indoor, open all year round. As well as a Fitness Suite, The Spa at The Grand is also open every day offering a range of relaxing treatments. Guests are advised to pre-arrange and pay for Spa treatments directly with the hotel. All of the hotel`s 132 rooms are spacious and blend the buildings original Victorian features with modern hotel amenities. These include flat-screen TV with Freeview, free Wi-Fi, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and ensuite bathrooms with luxurious toiletries. Many rooms have spectacular sea views, including the Agatha Christie Suite, in memory of the famous author who spent her honeymoon at the hotel. The hotel`s public areas also offer sea views. Guests can choose to dine in The Compass Lounge Brasserie, where snacks and light meals are served throughout the day. Alternatively, Restaurant 1881 offers a formal evening dining experience. Traditional Afternoon Tea is also prepared daily by the hotel`s chefs which can be enjoyed in the hotel`s comfortable lounge.

Hotel and location:

The iconic 4* Grand Hotel Torquay, which first opened in 1881, overlooks the seafront in the heart of the town and is just 3 minutes walk from Torquay Railway Station. During their stay guests can wander down to Corbyn Beach in front of the hotel or enjoy the views from the hotel`s outdoor swimming pool, which is open during the summer months. The Princess Theatre and Pier are less than 15 minutes walk along the seafront and Torquay Harbour a 20 minute stroll, where, as well as admiring the boats and sea views, visitors can choose from the many surrounding restaurants, bars and cafes.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From Torquay Railway Station exit onto Rathmore Road. Turn right onto Hennapyn Road and the hotel will be on the left.
BY CAR: From M5 take the Devon Expy/A38 following signs for Plymouth/Torquay/A380. Use the left 2 lanes to turn slightly left onto A380 following signs for Torquay. After 10 miles keep right to continue onto Besigheim Way/Penn Inn Flyover/A380 and continue to follow A380 for 3.1 miles. Make a slight left onto S Devon Expy and after 0.2 miles turn left onto Hamelin Way. Continue onto Rivieira Way/A3022 and keep left to stay on this route for 1.6 miles. Make a slight right onto Avenue Rd/A3022 and continue for 0.9 miles. Turn right onto Torbay Rd/A3022 and then right onto Rathmore Road. Turn left onto Hennapyn Rd and the hotel will be on the left.

Free Parking available for guests on street in front of hotel and in station car park opposite the hotel on a first come first served basis. Spaces in parking garage available for £10 per night. Must be arranged directly with hotel.
