The Cliffden Hotel

Room and hotel facilities:

The Cliffden Hotel, set in 7 acres of gardens and with direct access to the beach has 47 individually styled rooms. All are ensuite and in-room amenities include free Wi-Fi, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryers and flat-screen TV. The hotel`s Club rooms have the best sea views and a small number also have a balcony. The restaurant which overlooks the gardens and beyond to the sea is open for breakfast every morning from 7.30am, which is served in a buffet style with hot and cold dishes. Lunch and dinner are also served daily as well as Afternoon Tea which guests can enjoy on the hotel terrace in fine weather. Dogs are welcome for an extra charge per night, which should be arranged directly with the hotel.

Hotel and location:

The 3* Cliffden Hotel is situated above Teignmouth Beach, around 10 minutes walk from the railway station and town centre. Teignmouth Lido, a heated outdoor swimming pool overlooking the sea, is a 5-walk minute from the hotel. As well as enjoying the long sandy beaches, guests can pay a visit to the Shaldon Wildlife Trust Zoo which is 1.4 miles from the hotel. Another of Devon`s traditional seaside towns, Dawlish, is just a 6-minute drive or 5-minute train journey. Those wishing to travel further afield will find the city of Exeter a 35-minute drive or 30-minute train journey away.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From Teignmouth Railway Station exit onto Exeter Road. Turn left onto Dawlish Road and continue for 0.2 miles and the hotel will be on the right.
BY CAR: From the M5 continue onto Devon Expy/A38 following signs for Plymouth/Torquay/A380. After 2.3 miles use the 2 left lanes to turn slightly left onto A380 following signs for Torquay. After 3.4 miles take the B3192 exit towards Teignmouth and at the roundabout continue straight onto Colley Ln/B3192. Follow this route for 5 miles and then turn left onto Bitton Park Rd/Exeter Rd/A379. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Exeter Rd/A379. After 0.2 miles at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Myrtle Hill/A379. After a further 0.1 miles turn left onto Dawlish Street and the hotel will be on the right.
