Getting there:BY CAR: From Edinburgh International Airport. Follow signs for Edinburgh City Centre taking the A902. Turn right onto the B901, go through one roundabout. Turn left onto Broughton Street. Take 1st exit at roundabout onto Picardy Place / A900. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto London Rd / B1350. Slight right onto Royal Terrace. Hotel will be on your right. 

ON FOOT: From Edinburgh Station. Undo Head north on North Bridge/A7 toward Princes Street for 381 feet.  Turn right onto Waterloo Place/A1 and continue for 0.2 miles. Turn left toward Royal Terrace, take the stairs and continue for 0.3 miles. Turn right onto Royal Terrace and the destination will be on your right hand side.

"Ten out of ten."
Four of us stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel,Edinburgh Royal terrace.very comfortable beds,really clean.Excellent breakfast,so many choices,all freshly made.The staff from reception to breakfast room excellent,all so friendly, smiley and helpful.a little far out from the centre,but wonderful if you like walking

"Heat "
The thermostat in our room was not working properly for 1 day. When I asked for another room, they did not have one and provided a space heater. The space heater was ok for a while but a a risk to have on all night. The hotel was unable to get in contact with the maintenance people because it was a weekend. While the staff on duty were kind and supportive it would not be a place I would frequent again, especially coming from so far away. We did not receive new towels after housekeeping ?cleaned?, our tissues were out and we did not get any new and when I called about our phone I was advised someone would come up and look at, but no one did and we were there for 3 nights/4days.

"Excellent hotel"
The hotel was quiet, well-located, comfortable, served great breakfasts,  had friendly  and helpful staff and was extremely clean. 
One small niggle was that the bedroom windows didn`t open and the airconditioning either defaulted onto very warm temperatures or was put at high settings by cleaning staff. As a result we twice woke up feeling very warm and uncomfortable.A few more TV channels would have been appreciated.

"Room decor and layout good and nice view"
Great looking hotel externally and internally, with well turned-out staff.    
Clean throughout all areas. 
Top floor roof level room not so good, due to continual humming, sounding like roof mounted apparatus in operation. It was a bit like being under a laundry room all night long.

A lovely hotel with tidy/neat rooms and a very comfy bed,  the breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice offered.
