Getting there:BY TRAIN: From Newcastle Station. Walk west towards Bewick Street and then turn left onto Neville Street, continuing for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto St James` Boulevard and you will find the hotel on your right hand side. 
BY CAR: From A1, exit at junction 69 and take the A184 exit to Central Newcastle/Central Gateshead and continue onto A184 and after a mile onto A89. After a further mile turn right onto Westmorland Road/A186 and turn left onto Waterloo Street and left again for the hotel.

"2 nights stay "
Enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express.
Very central location with everything within walking distance. Staff polite and friendly. Room was fine with comfortable bed. Only negative not a lot of hanging space but ok for couple of days. Plenty of choices for  breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy access from the train station. Comfortable with very good breakfast. All staff were knowledgeable and helpful
I would like to highlight one member of staff in particular Micky who directed us to where we wanted to go and also
found where we could get specific items that we were looking for. Nothing was too much bother will be back.

Ideal location for easy access to shopping centre and railway station.Staff at hotel very friendly and helpful.Rooms were clean and ideal for our short term break.No hesitation in recommending hotel and will certainly stay again on our next visit to Newcastle.

"Friendly, clean hotel"
Great hotel, shame the lifts wasn`t working from ground floor! You had to walk up to 1st floor and catch the lift! Everyone checking in the same time as us were put on the 4th floor! Also saw people in wheel chairs! The lifts  weren`t working for over a week!! In this day and age it should have been fixed ASAP. However saying that hotel was very clean, bright and the food was good- would stay there again.
