This is the second time I`ve used HotelDirect. A diamond service that I cannot fault. From the beginning, everything was so easy and straight forward. I was kept up to date on all aspects. All tickets and info came to us as and when promised. The service took away any worries I had about visiting London. I would definitely use this company again and have recommended them to several friends.
Great value for money
The show we went to see was as brilliant. The hotel was clean and the room was spacious. Comfortable beds, very clean bathroom and decor was fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. Great value for money. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Not being a person who is savvy with computers, I found Hotel Direct very easy to use. I first chose the show I wanted to see. Then I chose the hotel and finally the train tickets. Everything is so simple, all I had to then was to print the paperwork and train tickets.

They even emailed me the day before the stay to confirm they had contacted the hotel and confirmed all of our bookings. Excellent service. I would highly recommend. Many people wrongly assume that Basingstoke is a new town but it can be traced back a long way and the town market is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. The Iron Age hill fort at Winklebury, which is 2 miles west of the town centre, is just one of a number of early settlements in the area, and the weekly market has been held since 1214. The town's development was greatly influenced by the cloth trade and brewing was a major industry during the 18th and 19th century. In the 1960's Basingstoke became an expanded town as part of the plan to alleviate the population pressures of London and was selected due to its enviable location on the main trade routes between the South West and London and its great transport links to the capital. More recently the town has become a hub for business and industry with many large companies such as Sony and Motorola having facilities in the area. The town also has a number of shopping centres and entertainment venues such as Festival Place which houses over 200 shops as well as a multi-screen cinema. There are several theatres such as the Haymarket which is housed in the old Corn Exchange as well as a great selection of restaurants and bars.
