This is the second time I`ve used HotelDirect. A diamond service that I cannot fault. From the beginning, everything was so easy and straight forward. I was kept up to date on all aspects. All tickets and info came to us as and when promised. The service took away any worries I had about visiting London. The show we went to see was as brilliant. The hotel was clean and the room was spacious. Comfortable beds, very clean bathroom and decor was fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. Great value for money. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Not being a person who is savvy with computers, I found Hotel Direct very easy to use. I first chose the show I wanted to see. Then I chose the hotel and finally the train tickets. Everything is so simple, all I had to then was to print the paperwork and train tickets.

Coventry predates both Leicester and Birmingham and is thought to have grown from a Bronze Age settlement to be one of the preeminent cities in England during the Middle Ages, due to its involvement in the clothe trade. In the 18th and 19th century Coventry was one of the three main areas for clock and watch manufacture, with the competition from Swiss makers the industry declined but left a large pool of skilled workers who were perfect for employment in the burgeoning bicycle trade. The best example of which was the Rover safety bicycle company, an alternative to the penny farthing cycle, this company went on to expand to eventually become the Rover Company when the manufacture of cars overtook bicycles. On November the 14th 1940 the Luftwaffe carried the famous Coventry Blitz, when firebombing destroyed large areas of the city and left the historic cathedral in ruins with only the shell and spire remaining. Due to the massive damage the city was rebuilt with a large pedestrianized centre, the largest in Europe at the time, and with the new St Michael's Cathedral. The city today is home to a great selection of shopping and entertainment as well as a number of museums, art galleries and attractions, such as Coventry Transport Museum and St Mary's Guildhall.
