Incredible hotel, everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was ready ahead of check in, it was quite with an excellent view across the city. The breakfast buffet on the terrace was exceptional?I would highly recommend the Royal Horseguards Hotel

"Our favourite London Hotel"

We actually paid a lot for this accommodation and wanted a room with a view over the river. It didn`t adversely affect our stay but in our room on the 7th floor the windows were so old that they no longer shut properly and the road noise was only drowned out by the sound of the trains. Poorly fitting curtains have to be carefully arranged to ensure that the light doesn`t disturb your sleep. The bathroom was a little tired with the shower taking an age to drain. Breakfast was good but the hotel staff weren`t forthcoming regarding the separate menu for item which weren`t available from the buffet and which at the price we paid should have been more widely advertised.Positives were our room attracted free access to the mini bar fridge which was stocked with beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. Additionally, we had a Nespresso coffee machine with 4 cartridges a day. Public rooms are good, the staff are excellent and we will be staying again based on location.

I chose this hotel and theatre package for my wife`s birthday and our wedding anniversary, we arrived at the hotel around 11.30am to ask if we could leave our case with the concierge as it states you cannot check in until 3pm. The receptionist who dealt with us was Polina who after I mentioned it was a birthday and anniversary surprise very kindly upgraded our room to the eighth floor with a great view. The room was spotless with a little nespresso coffee machine with ample coffee pods and tea bags, there`s a little mini bar with water, cans of coke, popcorn and chocolate bar which gets replenished in the evening if you wish. All the staff we spoke to were very polite and courteous. Also the hotel is ideally located for all the sights. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a great stay.

"Lovely hotel in amazing setting."

Really lovely hotel. Comfortable and spacious. Some bits look very dated and need cosmetic work and the breakfasts were slow - took time to replenish the dishes and quite a wait on the second morning to be seated, but quality was excellent.

Magnificent hotel in a prime location. Staying at the Royal Horseguards is always a treat, the service and cleanliness is impeccable. An extra special mention to the fabulous Pervez, one of the several excellent doormen/concierge staff, who`s friendliness and incomparable assistance made this particular stay an absolute joy.

Initial room frosted window so no view with scaffolding outside also shower was poorThey were very accomodating as we had stayed afew times before and gave us a much better room with a viewWE only had one breakfast as on a trip other days Breakfast was ok but why replace the glass in a window at 9am when the room would be empty after 10

I had a few "Four in a Bed" issues regarding windows that couldn`t be closed and crusty plumbing in the bathroom. But the room was certainly value for money even though I hate internal facing windows. Although I didn`t bother to question it, I ate 3 times in the Equus Bar and found that my final drinks and food bill on checking out bore little relation to the menu prices. Maybe it`s because I`m a country boy, but I also object to a 12.5% service charge being imposed. I`m a generous tipper, but feel the prices are so high, that a compulsory service charge is just taking the piss and who actually gets the money? Yes I`m a Guardian reader.

"Royal House Guards - good "

We have rated the Royal House Guards Hotel as a good. The staff are very friendly staff and welcoming. The balcony room was well presented, comfortable bed, complimentary bar fridge, Nesspresso coffee and light and temp control was outstanding. The breakfast was fabulous and no queues, comfortable dining experience you would expect from a 5 star hotel. However, do be aware, Peanut butter and Marmite could not be provided. The location is fantastic, easy to walk to most of the West End theatres and opposite the London Eye. On the flip side - We encountered hot water issues with our en-suite which despite the hotel engineer visiting several times, it never resolved! I would have expected more to have been done, an alternative room, and on all three nights we did not have consistent hot water. To add to this the shower door leaked and unfortunately a puddle in your en-suite is messy. Despite this, we would recommend staying but do check your facilities work well.

"Quality was there but little things awry detracted our stay"

No king size bed, but two twins pushed together - not what was ordered and no remedy or real apology for this. Room overall very comfortable but no kettle, tea, sugar or milk. Not value for money considering price.

"Not what we were expecting a very tired looking hotel that really does need refurbishing. "

Very poor for a hotel of this type. Shower was dirty and we had to request a change of room which took time and resulted in us losing time on our trip, used shower over bath and suffered a head injury on hand held shower attachment. Causing bleeding to the head and concussion the next day. We paid for breakfast 49.50 for the 2 of us not exactly a small amount of money but it was appalling. Still waiting for a a refund from the hotel. This was a birthday treat for my wife so you can imagine how disappointed we were.

There was no sign in the room to indicate where the kettle and tea and coffee facilities were. We eventually found them hidden in a bottom drawer? Why not have them visable on the side?Maybe a card to provide some simple instructions, otherwise an enjoyable stay, staff pleasant and helpful.

Silly issues that add up1 ordered an Old fashioned in cocktail bar didn`t have the ingredients 2 no tea only coffee in room3 only 1 satchel of shower gel for 2 people 4 paid £25 for a steak that went back because it was cold

Small room next to fire escape. Tv not working after room made up late afternoon. Someone else`s drinks added to our bill - made to feel dishonest when we said this and they said they would check to see if we were correct.

"A wonderful retreat from the busy streets."

A well situated hotel with a lovely, friendly staff . Nothing was too much trouble. We were given a well informed tour of the adjacent old liberal reform club by the Concierge, an unexpected treat. It was wonderful to be able to retreat from the hustle and bustle of London and enjoy a relaxing glass of wine on the garden terrace..

Beautiful hotel, staff were excellent, food was excellent, hotel room was lovely but had no veiw from the windows which I would check next time overall the perfect couple of days.
