Hotel and location:

The 4* Doubletree by Hilton York in the city centre, overlooking the City Wall, is just over half a mile, a 15-minute walk from York Railway Station. There are plenty of places of historical interest to visit less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel including York Minster, the city`s 12th century cathedral and The Shambles York`s most famous and oldest street. Lined with medieval timber-framed buildings, visitors can stroll among the unusual shops and the many tea houses available it has to offer. Visitors with a sweet tooth will not want to miss York`s Chocolate Story which is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel and offers a guided tour of the city`s chocolate making history.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From York Railway Station exit onto Station Rd and walk north-east towards Rougier St. After 0.2 miles continue onto Duncombe Place and then onto Minster Yard. From there continue onto Deangate and then onto Goodramgate. Continue onto Monkgate and then turn right onto St Maurice`s Rd. Make a left turn and the hotel will be on the left.
BY CAR: Heading north-east on M62 at Junction 38, exit towards North Cave. Merge onto Newport Rd/B1230 and after 1 mile turn left onto Townend Ln. After 0.3 miles turn left onto Cliffe Rd and continue on Cliffe Rd for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto A1079 and at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Giant Bradley Way/A1079 and continue to follow this route for 1.3 miles. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto York Rd/A1079. Follow A1079 for a further 5.2 miles and then at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto York Rd/A1079 and continue for a further 9.4 miles. At Grinston Bar, take the 2nd exit onto Hull Rd/A1079 and after 1.7 miles turn right onto Foss Islands Rd/A1036. Turn right after 0.4 miles and the hotel will be on the left.
