Getting there:BY TUBE: take the Underground Bakerloo, Circle, Jubilee, Metropolitan or Hammersmith & City line to Baker Street. Exit the station on Marylebone Road, cross over at the lights and walk down Baker Street. Turn left onto Porter Street and at the end take a right onto Chiltern Street. The  Holmes Hotel is No 83 on the right hand-side of Chiltern Street.
From London Gatwick airport, take the Gatwick Express to Victoria station and from Victoria, take the Victoria line on the underground to Oxford Circus and the Bakerloo line to Baker Street.

"Positives and Negatives"
I requested a room away from the road but when I checked in had been allocated an upgraded room on the road side. The check-in staff were helpful re-allocating a room at the back away from roads/lifts and provided good service. A free welcome drink was a nice touch. The breakfast was adequate and tasty. I had a good nights sleep but only because I had taken ear plugs. There was a periodic loud buzz in the room (did not make staff aware). This was possibly caused by loud espresso coffee machines in the rooms. Not a good choice as there was already standard coffee and kettle provided. The public rooms were also quite dark which is not to my taste. It was a dog friendly hotel which I was not aware off on booking so would not stay again due to this reason mainly and the espresso coffee machines in rooms.

Have stayed at the Sherlock before and loved it. We came back to London to see a West End show and although there were hotels closer to the Theatre, elected to stay at the Sherlock again as we were so impressed with it the first time and we weren`t disappointed. Great location, excellent staff service and the food is brilliant. Will be back!

No A/C for cool air in rooms.No side plates or warm main course plates at breakfast and slow delivery of made to order items like poached eggs let down the hotel but the staff were all very good,pleasant and polite.

"very nice"
 a good choice of hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean and with the high ceilings gave a feeling of space despite we only having a standard room. the bathroom was compact but light. the shower was very good and having a robe was a nice touch. we had some drinks in the bar after the show and I did feel that they were on the pricey side but that aside everything was fine including a trip to the gym.

Lovely hotel , very central with easy access. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was wonderful and very spacious. Highly recommend this hotel and will be returning soon.

"Sherlock Holmes in Baker Street."
Very central, we used the bus to get everywhere it was so good. Grub was excellent great breakfast each morning and we ate int the restuarant one day and had a really very good lunch. Room was fine. I woould certainly recommend it

The hotel was a pleasant surprise, small but welcoming, 5 min walk from the nearest tube, ideal. The room was comfortable and nice bathroom. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food, we ate in the bar, was absoulutely delicious and reasonably priced, considering we were in the heart of London, would definately use them again.
