Brilliant from start to finish
Brilliant from start to finish, everything went completely smooth, we booked a package with hotel direct, coach, hotel and theatre break in London, I was worried incase things didn`t go to plan but I needn`t have been, our lovely coach was waiting for us, the journey was very smooth into London, we done some sightseeing before checking in to our hotel, the room was perfect for us, very spacious and had everything we needed, then we went onto see the lion king in the theatre, it was fantastic, we had another full day sightseeing the next day, to be picked back up on the Sunday night with another smooth journey home, can`t thank hotel direct enough for making our trip a memorable one, highly recommend using and taking the stress out of everything.

Located in the North west of Scotland and often referred to as the Granite City Aberdeen is well known for its connection to North sea oil, however visitors will be interested to explore this city's medieval history and long maritime heritage. There has been a settlement in the area for at least 8,000 years but it wasn't until 1319 when the Great Charter of Robert the Bruce transformed Aberdeen into an independent community. From the mid-18th century until the middle of the 20th century the city's buildings incorporated granite from the local quarries, which due to its high content of mica can sparkle in the sun giving Aberdeen its other name as the silver city. Once known for its fishing and textile mills Aberdeen was transformed by the discovery of oil in the North sea in the 1970's which is still important to this day, the city also has a large range of technology companies but only retains one of the many vital paper mills that brought wealth to the area at the end of the 17th century. If you want to see the inspiration for Walt Disney's castle logo, Craigievar Castle is just under an hour's drive from Aberdeen, this fairy tale castle with its iconic turrets, towers and gargoyles houses a collection of original furniture and is set within beautiful grounds. For an understanding of the modern city you may wish to visit the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, which is centred on a three story replica of an oil production platform, with other displays showing the historical importance of shipbuilding and the fishing industry to this fascinating city.
